Alien Breed Evolution, Team 17's upcoming remake of their classic Alien Breed game, has been confirmed as a timed exclusive for the Xbox 360 with a PS3 release coming later. This according to a VG247 interview with Team 17's Martyn Brown.

The remake will be released in three parts beginning in around October, with the first episode containing five levels. It'll retain the original's top-down shooting mechanics and feature variable difficulty settings as well as co-op.

Team 17's also pulling out all the stops on this one, as it's reportedly one of the most expensive digital titles to date. Hope the development costs don't affect the price too much.

I'm hoping this will be good as I still play the original Amiga Alien Breeds a lot especially in 2 player. But most revamps of old 2D games I've played just seem to lose something.

Annoying that I got to wait longer than Xbox owners but least it's coming out on the PS3 at all.
