Afrika goes gold, stampeding towards US retail in October

Quick explanation first so that everybody starts out on the same page. When we say that a game has "gone gold," all that means is that it's now finalized and is ready to be manufactured into the game copies we see at retail. It has nothing to do with how many copies the game has sold.

Now that that's out of the way, let's get on to the news. Natsume has announced that Afrika, the wildlife photography adventure for the PS3, has gone gold and entered the manufacturing stage.

Afrika puts players in the role of a photojournalist tasked with taking pictures of various animals in a lush, unexplored region of Africa. There are over 70 animals to find and over 100 missions to complete, all of which you can try out for yourself when the game hits North American retail on October 6. Here's a gameplay trailer from the Japanese version.

I've actually been looking forward to this game for a long time now. The idea just really speaks to me.

I wonder if you can get mauled by lions if you get too close?

Your crazy. Keep you negative comments to yourself. Don't have anything good to say, pass along and don't say anything at all. I think this game looks nice, I'm getting it!

» This isn't a fanpage.

If you don't like his opinion, then that's too bad. Get yourself some webtools and make an Afrika fanpage. Then you can delete all the comments you don't like as you fancy.

» Looks cool

I just hope it has a lot to offer. Maybe if it does good they will make a sequel like in another part of the world or something.
