As much as we love our PlayStation 3, admittedly, it's price is something we can not call cheap. Regardless if you get the 20GB version or the behemoth 60GB, the price tag attached to our baby will always cause some people to think twice before buying. Fortunately Sony Corporation's retail arm, Sony Style, is offering fans a good work around.

Before January 4 of this coming year, sign up for a Sony-branded credit card. Then make a purchase using the card before March 31, 2007 and you will automatically receive US$ 150 off of your first credit card statement. Technically speaking if you subtract and add here and there, this brings down the price of the PS3. This offer may be used with Sony (a fifty dollar PSP, perhaps?) and non-Sony products. Hey, it's a credit card anyway!

Those who are interested to take the offer can refer to the Read link below for more information. But here's a brief summary of other features included in the offer:

  • 0% Introductory APR for up to 12 months and No Annual Fee
  • Full Platinum Visa benefits
  • 1 Reward Point for every $1 on any purchase, anywhere.
  • 3 Reward Points for every $1 on Sony products purchased anywhere.
  • 5 Sony Rewards Points per $1 spent at SonyStyle.com, Sony Style stores, and ImageStation.com
  • 10 Rewards Points per $1 spent at SonyStyle.com, SonyStyle stores, and ImageStation.com until January 4, 2007.
  • Exclusive members-only deals on Sony products
  • Automatic entry for chances to win great Sony prizes

OH Thats Brilliant (not)

Even if the card is useful in U.K. the PS3 isnt available in the U.K. untill after the promotion has ended DUH! Its as if Sony doesnt give a fig about our little highly populated Island where there could be alot of potential customers. Screw you FONY.

Thats right

Encourage people to get a credit card... Its the way forward! NOT
by - 2006-12-30 07:30:14
nope

even if it really did take off 150 dollars towards ANY purchase, the PS3 would still cost well over 400 dollars. sorry, my xbox 360 and my wii are good where they stand

Paid for my PS3's with it.

I scored big with this CC. I picked it up a couple weeks before the PS3 came out. I used it to buy 3 PS3's, accessories and games. I got Triple Bonus points for all my SONY purchases. I got ONLY $100 off because that was the offer a couple months ago. But I did get it right after the first purchase. I sold 2 PS3s on Ebay for a total of $2100. Paid off the $2100 toward the credit card, and owe a short amount due to other unrelated purchases. I got my PS3 and games for FREE and made a little bit of extra cash. Finally, I am sitting on over 6k of SONY points, and I can get a few blu-ray movies or a PS3 game!! Great card.

Wheres your math?

500-150+350+Tax Thats less then 400 bucks. Pretty much the cost of a Xbox360 premium but you get more features for the money.
by - 2006-12-30 13:12:05
Yup

He sold them around release date, in which they were goin for around 1000

Sounds good

"0% Introductory APR for up to 12 months and No Annual Fee" Thats the best part. However, I really do think they will check out your credit before giving you this deal. So all you people with bad credit or just starting to build up your credit, I'd say try it out and see if they'll still give you the deal.

If you signed yourself up for a credit card JUST to get a PS3, you have A WHOLE LOT to learn about life

This is a good deal; no doubt. I have gotten 0 from three different Citibank cards. 0 from Chase's. 0 from American Express. Every sunday papers will have ads for free $ with approved credit card signup. The free $ are marketing cost for the companies; business expense. I took most of my credit line 25K and put it into online saving earning 5%. E-loan.com has 5.35apy. Free 0 each month in interest.

Math?

Vietone check your math, 500-150+350+Tax is $700 plus tax, hardly the cost of a 360 premium...
