For Japan, this Thursday is the big day. December 17th is the day when Final Fantasy XIII comes out in Japan, and the rest of the world looks on with envy (and more in-game footage). For that red letter day, Square Enix has shipped a million copies of the game to the land of the rising sun.
Just to compare, Final Fantasy XII shipped two million for its release in Japan - but to be absolutely fair, it was to the much larger consumer base of the PlayStation 2. There's no multi-platform factor here since Final Fantasy XIII will not be released for the Xbox 360 in Japan.
Anyway, Square Enix also plans to ship 170,000 more copies by the 17th, and another 150,000 by the end of next week.

Now I just hope that this game is good though I'm looking more forward to versus I think.
