- It is developed by Slant Six, the same folks handling SOCOM: Tactical Strike for the PSP.
- It is going to allow up to 32 players in a map.
- It is going to be available this Fall.
- It set in a place with a decidedly middle eastern look to it.
- It has a pretty nice trailer.

Anyways, looks allright, but i hope it is just a beta. Doesnt really have that wow factor, but loks good no the less.
Its socom..enough said. I played Socom 2 for hours on end, i was entirely addicted. If I can get socom fever again on my ps3...i'm a made man.
and your an idiot. RE4 didnt even come close to inventing the over the shoulder cam. Its called third person, and its been around.....gee idk, forever. (splinter cell in 2003)
Game looks really fun, i played Socom I and II and i really liked it, first Ps3 game that looks good to me.

this is a socom 2 map if anything its the same game just graphics tweaked, like GT HD its GT4 with better graphics, i cant wait for socom tho

I loved SOCOM 1, 2 and 3, never played combined assault because I got a 360 and a PS3 and decided I'd wait for SOOM on ps3...
When I played GRAW on 360 I just dreamed about how cool it'd be if socom was looking like that. Sadly this new trailer shows grafics that don't look so good.

they did fine socom 1 and 2 but its time to let some one who knows how to code and release downloadable content on time do the job (weve been waiting on map pack 2 for S3 for close to a year)
Good textures, good lightning. This game IS NOT SOCOM 4, is more like a multiplayer spin off.
Like WarHawk they are trying to get out an exciting multiplayer game as soon as they can in order to boost PSN usage. Look how awesome PSN will be, Calling All Cars, WarHawk, SOCOM Confrontation, all are must have titles. Surely both WarHawk 2 and SOCOM 4 will be improved graphically and surely, they will get a single player component. Dont worry buddy and enjoy a good online firefight.
That sucks If your just gonna have a multiplayer game, don't even expect it to be a game after all. What if theres no body playing online. Bottom line have a F!cking Single Player. Another 8.0 game.

you complain that SOCOM is a mutiplayer game and they you complain that the PS3 has no mutiplayer games... hmm.
Besides, Sony is making both single player games and mutiplayer games seperately because the 2 game types are very different nowadays so its best to concentrate on one and get it right. All 360 games have online, even when theyre not suited to online. If a 360 game doesnt have online then its like "ZOMG NO ONLINE LETS THROW TEH GAME IN TEH BIN LYKE!!"
If u think that mutiplayer makes a game then you must have a narrow-minded taste in video games.

Sorry, but YOURE the idiot. Theres a difference between Third Person and Over The Shoulder.
TP (Third Person) is just a camera directly behind the character, much like how Tomb Raider games are played. OTS (Over The Shoulder) is just that, over the SHOULDER, allowing you to more easily see what is in front of you than with FP. Also, Splinter Cell is in TP, not OTS.
Im not sure if RE4 invented the OTS view (Im thinking Ghost Recon 2 and Ghost Recon: Summit Strike had OTS before RE4), but more and more games are using this view.
As far as Socom: Confrontation goes, it looks a little underwhelming. Its kinda looking like a mix between Rainbow Six: Lockdown and Battlefield 2. And the AK is looking way too inaccurate to be of any use. Im gonna stick to Ghost Recon for now.
it is a remake of crossroads, i hope they redo all the socom 1 and 2 maps omg that would make my day i really dont care.

next, there is a socom game release for ps3 that will be online only this year fall 2007,but come 2008 there will be a next socom that will include single player and multiplayer by ZIPPER,also a psp socom made by ZIPPER 2008. and why even hate on the graphics,we all have ps3's we know what games look like on it, not on gametrailers son.
