NBA Live 07 has been cancelled for the PS3 altogether. We repeat. NBA Live 07 has been cancelled for the PS3 altogether. Instead, you can expect it to come out next season as NBA Live 08.
This was the official statement coming from EA representatives when asked by IGN about updates on the game. Says David Tinson, Public Relations Manager of EA Canada, "We are concentrating our efforts on creating a spectacular NBA Street: Homecourt [instead of porting NBA Live 07]."
Initially announced at E3 2006 back in May, the PS3 edition of NBA Live 07 showed how much of the unit's technology can be utilized by the game. From the focusing on "Procedural Awareness Technology", the video of the game as a work in progress seemed to be highly promising. That is, until EA Sports decided to just shelf it altogether. As to the real reason why they opted to discontinue the PS3 project of NBA Live 07, we can only guess. But here's hoping that the next season will absolutely be for real.
The hardcourt's definitely gonna be much colder this season without this game.
The NBA Homecourt, meanwhile, can be expected to land in retail stores by the first half of 2007.

cuz the game sux big time...EA has "dropped the ball" if u will on both football and b-ball games...madden sucked less than the last one...but nba live...game was just bad
A huge company like EA says they can't take the time to do a port with crappy load times and no difference in graphics? Might as well of had a press release saying "ehhh we don't feel like it."
Well let's focus on NBA Street like crazy then if they really need to pool their resources for it (if it sucks my respect for EA will plumit from 0 into the negatives).
Yeah, this is serously no loss for PS3 owners, 2K7 is TOTALLY going to own NBA live anyhow, as it did last year.

who cares, EA Games all suck now... they lost their way with games and only care about money now... dishing out game after game saying something is new when its just an old feature with new skins, an updates roster, etc. nothing big. never anything big.
hwoever i only feel that way about their sports games, i think they make okay action/fps/ other games.
I think it's probably a wise decision - they were competing directly with NBA 07, and were much too similar. Now they are focussing on a slightly different market.
I think we are getting NBA Live, just wrapped up in the cover of NBA Street so they can cover all those bugs up under a name that's already off the wall with normal physics. Just gotta make sure I use Sasha Vujacic so I can drop 3s from half court!
2k7 game play is better.live is all about looking good now sad..i only hope they would let me use the rightstick as iso motion for 2k7 though
