92 PS3 exclusives, 20 PSN titles confirmed?

Fatal Frame on PS3?! - Image 1As the year ends, it's the perfect time to speculate about what the future has to offer. This idea is probably what's behind the list of "confirmed Sony PlayStation 3 exclusives" from the PS3Forums. Apparently, 92 exclusives along with 20 PlayStation Network titles are set for release on the console in 2008 and beyond.

Most noteworthy on the list would be the appearance of a next-gen Castlevania, Driver 5, and something from Crytek. Both Namco Bandai and David Jaffe's Eat Sleep Play are expected to release three games in 2008.

Our suspicions are raised by the inclusion Fatal Frame, which latest installment in the series has been confirmed by Tecmo to be developed for the Nintendo Wii by developer Grasshopper Manufacture. An RPG from From Software, canceled before it received an official title, is also on the list.

There's also a rumored exclusive section for the hopefuls, where Dark Cloud 3, Final Fantasy VII remake, Kingdom Hearts 3, and Zone of the Enders 3 are present.

Level 5's success with Dark Cloud almost warrants a third, though the company expressed its interest in the Nintendo Wii. Strong demand for the return of FFVII may just push Square Enix to do the remake, and Kingdom Hearts 3 is almost inevitable. ZOE 3 could very well be Hideo Kojima's next project after leaving Metal Gear Solid.

Will they all appear on the Sony PS3? Looks like we'll have to wait and see. The list of "confirmed" PSN titles, which you can find via the link below, sounds more likely to be legit.

Here is a more accurate and credible list of released and unreleased "announced" exclusives for all consoles as of November 2007.

PS3 list is on page 3.

Half the titles listed in the PS3 forums are just pure speculation at best.

» I have to agree with Devise

although I wouldn't say "half of the titles" buddy but I have to agree that a lot of them doesn't fall into the category of "confirmed"... but it's just part of the everyday "who has the longer pen!s contest between the XBox 360 and PS3 fans.

as a huge PS3 fan myself I don't even look at all at this types of list cause I am already satisfied with the amount of games THAT I AM SURE i'll be able to buy and play on my PS3 in the future... I know the relevant games (personally) that I want and what I plan to get... i don't see the purpose of coming up with a freakin list especially if you already have the console (cause obviously you've already jumped in and there's no need anymore for you to look at a freakin list to convince you to invest on a console cause you already have it)...

what's the use of coming up with a list, you ain't gonna buy all those games anyway... it's just fanboys being fanboys.

» I agree

I also agree with Quixand. Because only about half of the fans will probably at most think of getting these games.

Though, about Z.O.E. I kind of liked it. And I'll always welcome the Kingdom Hearts series as well.

If Final Fantasy VII and Zone of the Enders were out on PS3, I would pick those up immediately.

Level5 needs to do something about the high level of repetetivity of their games, they ten dto get boring after about 20 hours of gameplay and the enemies are just way too poewrfull father you get into the game.

This plagued DarkCloud2 and RogueGalaxy

» man....

Even if only the half of the games come out, it would be definitely some good news.

» There are some crazy exclusives on the list.

But like Devise pointed out 360 and Wii have many more titles coming to them. But I think more attention needs to be paid toward how many of these exclusives are actually going to be good games. I see some serious potential on all three consoles. The question is weather or not these companies will be able to hold on to their exclusives (Wii will have the easiest task here).

People have to realize that many of the greatest games will go multi-platform simply because of the demand that there is for them on other consoles. This isn't three years ago when Sony was destroying Microsoft and Nintendo. Examples are Devil May Cry, Resident Evil 5, Grand Theft Auto IV, Ninja Gaiden etc., These were all big PlayStation gunners that are now coming out for both.

I'll keep my PS3 though, simply because I KNOW that that the games that I want will be on it. But I have no problem if Microsoft fan boys get to play them too, just more money for the development of sequels.

All that said, I hate all of you 360 nerds cause you will get to play Lost Odyssey. Good luck getting your hands on God of War III though.

» fanboys are losers

I prefer my xbox 360 but I'm not going to degrade the PS3. People are fanboys because it makes them feel better about themselves after theyv'e blown hundreds of dollars on a console. The PS3 exclusives listed here don't interest me at all except maybe that new Crytek game if it turns out to be something cool. I probably won't buy a PS3 until God of War 3 comes out.

by scarface_tha_second - 2007-12-27 07:09
» Agreed

I actually take a much similar stance as you. Most 360 games, even the best ones, just don't interest me. Those that do are on PC anyway. I think it is much more relative and down to the individual than most people will admit. If I made it sound like I was degrading 360 it wasn't my intention.

» I have to disagree with you Quixand

This has nothing to do with who has the bigger *****. Exclusives are a big part if gaming and who wins the generation, PS1 and PS2 all won cause of more games and exclusive titles. Right now the PS3 isn't looking to bright in the exclusive side.

While i agree most people won't have enough money to get them, and im going to try to play as many games as i can, Exclusives are the thing that makes a console great, and win the generation.

Think on it like sports, yeah you may have some great players but if you don't get scoring from everyone and have great defense your not going anywhere and your not going to win the championship.

And this is no different to companies especially Sony who has won cause of exclusive amounts and cause of long term use out of each system.

This list is important to companies and gamers who only want a few games. Right now My sister doesn't care for alot of games on the PS3 only the ones that matter to her like God of war 3, Kingdom hearts 3, Final Fantasy games. Maybe the next dmc game but thats it. And most people associate those games with PS3, if they can't deliver and and aren't exclusive no one will buy this system and will become a failure. This is important.

I don't think its pure speculation, we all know its going to happen. Sony has never failed about bring the best games, according to them, to the PS3. KH3, FF games and FF7 remake will happen, SE have already been milking FF7 games and teasing the fans about a remake, it will not serve them right or the fans if they don't go through with it now. They dug themselves a hole which they can't get out of, without a remake, hell its already been confirmed with, when the time is right. So yeah it will happen, and im not talking about this as a PS3 fan but from what happened in the past and what we already know.
