40 minutes with Guerrilla: the making of Killzone 2 mini-documentary |
Ó

Compared to the six minutes of awesome in the Killzone 2 intro vid we saw earlier, this one requires a bit more attention and quite a lot of time. Dutch website GameKings has just released a full 40-minute mini-documentary on the making of Killzone 2.
They've interviewed the key figures in Guerrilla Games: CEO Hermen Hulst and game director Mathijs de Jonge, among others. They reveal tons and tons of info, I tell you! Some may even be considered spoilers!
If you wanted a full compendium of all the info we've had so far (and quite a lot of new surprising details too!), this is it. Yeah, the game gets released next month, so I'm sure some of you would want a recap.
Heh. 40 minutes and they're calling it a mini-docu? Well, it was mini since it was actually released as three separate videos. But now it's been stung up together, and with subtitles too! Here's some of the things you'll find in the docu.
- The wind physics in the game - can alter grenade traectories and slow your movement.
- They've closed the story with Killzone 2, but just as easily, they could re-boot the franchise with a new trilogy!
- Moving from Liberation to Killzone 2.
- Unlockable classes, ribbons, weapons, and the whole upgrading system.
- A walkthrough of the different layers (depth buffers) of how the game is visually rendered in real time.
- Lots of gameplay clips and artwork.
- Some of their inspiration came from Robocop and Terminator.
- A look into the world of Helghast.
Thanks to devinger for the heads up! Can't wait for those Dutch OPM scans you promised!
