33% of 1,000 gamers want GT5 before getting PS3

indy We all know instinctively that Gran Turismo 4 will be the game that can change the face of the numbers game, to much benefit of the PS3. Still, it's always nice to have an actual number to back that intuition up. How does 33% sound for you?

33% -- that's how much gamers are waiting for Gran Turismo 5 and who have yet to buy a PlayStation 3. Simply put, their only reason to buy a PS3 is to play this game.

According to the report from The Official PlayStation Magazine's May 2010 issue, "OXT's GamePlan weekly tracking study surveys 1,000 U.S. gamers and buyers including hardcore gamers, casual gamers and everyone in between. The study tracks up to 600 game SKUs at any given time, including all major console, handheld, PC and iPhone titles."

You know what's gonna be good for you, Sony. Get this game out now, stat!

Can qj just fire Mabie A? I don't like reading his/her articles. While this one doesn't have the usual horrendous spelling/grammar as his/her other articles, but it still manages to mess up and somehow mention GT4 where I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be GT5, since, you know, GT 4 has been out for like years.

Why does it matter to you enough to throw a wobbly over it?

This is just a games news site, no wars are going to be caused through miscommunicatio n and you are obviously educated enough to realise whats wrong and understand whats really meant.
Do you assume you're the only one that can see any mistakes and so you're fighting for all the accidently misinformed (due to the "horrendous" spelling mistakes and other silly mistakes anyone can make) stupid people that come here?

or are you just moaning for the sake of being a miserable arse?

It is just annoying. That is why people complain. I do not enjoy reading an article with mistakes that could be easily fixed with just one proofread or spell check.

Why? Because I am one of the 33%.
However not only does it include GT5, it also includes MGS4 for me.
However I still cannot justify over £300 just to play 2 games.

i believe there aren't really any other good racing simulators other than gran turismo but there is burnout paradise but that's more on the line of physics simulator it has some pretty neat crashing system going on there... but its not as good and realistic as gt... i simply can't wait for the game myself i want it....

No Cross Game Chat No support for a more friendly PlayStation Network etc..& wheres a Longer Friends & ban List as well as more support for In Game Music!.They are so far behind that its not one bit funny anymore!..3D HD FAILURE SONY!..More Games that will be ahead of the Wii & 360? Sony you have not yet showed us what new content etc that planned for 2010 and Beyond 2011 and please hurry up with some good news or you guys will fail this year!..Fear3 Stupid..I rather have

In game support can only be provided by the game maker itself and not by the console. This is due to a patent that Microsoft has on it. Sony will be able to add this as an option once the patent runs out which is like 5-10 years from when it was filed.

Sony has told what they have planned, they aren't always lat to get in on something. You listed 1 thing wrong with the Playstation that's it. Maybe if you would do a little research you would find a thing or two. Not to mention that it takes so long for games to come because millions and millions of dollars go into making them. I don't know if you realize this or not but, those games also take a few years to make. Sony doesn't decide which games get music support, that's up to the developers, if they made it so you could listen to music in any game, they would get sued. Motion, MODNation, and more get released this year, wait for E3 then complain about Sony not telling anything.

Umm .. not sure what you mean by a more friendly PSN network. Sounded like a pretty vague statement imo, but to each their own. I find the system pretty easy as it is.

As far has 3D HD gaming? .. I dont see how that would be considered a failure? I think what they are planning for is for the future. With their motion sensing tech controller, and well their 3D gaming ... correct me if I'm in the wrong with thinking this way but ... sounds to be like they are pushing for something like virtual reality gaming and pretty much bringing it to consumers? Dunno but sounds pretty awesome to me.

Development takes time, i personally would rather wait than rather never see it happen. Just hoping its with in my life time haha xD.

I can't wait for GT5 either! Always have been a big fan of the series, this installment will be amazing

a bit more user friendly, when resistance first came out took me and a friend about 10 mins to figure out how to send invites to join each others game. have you ever played resident evil 5? you send invite, friend receives invite and accpets, is told they will switch to authorized game search, then it finds you game, confirms if you want to join, bam there you go! your finally in the game!

i understand its get what you pay for but considering XBL is just hit the X button and then your friend accepts it.... (sometimes even less a lot of games allow "join session in progress"

i think PSN store is a lot easier to navigate but thats about the only thing sony has on XBL...

i know there is going to be differences because of the price point but lets be honest if you want to be competative in todays market you need to stomp the other players not just sit on the sidelines and remove features from your prize ship....

Waiting since I can't remember for one game.. What's the point?
No one game deserves the purchase price of a console.
