33 days to Fallout 3's teaser trailer and more |
Lots of players are certainly fans of Fallout, and we're sure they're finding it hard to contain their excitement about the newest title, Fallout 3. Gamespot spotted a couple of new things about Bethesda Softworks' new pet project.
First, the teaser page. Several days ago, it just sported a retro poster that links to the official forums. It has been updated to reveal a somewhat barren landscape with something interesting just below it. TEASER: 33 DAYS. So (*counting days*) that means that the teaser trailer for Fallout 3 would be up on June 5. Another curious thing is the track that plays in the background which makes one think. Will Fallout 3 sport the series' humor? Or will it be a much more serious title? (*Imagining Oblivion with guns*)
Next is the leaked footage of Interplay's Van Buren project (the unfinished Fallout 3). It was uploaded into YouTube by NoMutantsAllowed and features what could have been. It shows the old Fallouts' isometric and turn-based action. Bethesda is keeping mum about the video game's details but it did confirm that Fallout 3 will be running on GameBryo engine (much like Oblivion). Also that they will be doing multiple versions (hmm... PS3 and Xbox360?).
Anyway, we'll let you watch the video and judge for yourself. We'll also keep you posted on new info on Fallout 3. Keep checking back.

Is it just me or do the graphics look like crap?

I'm so excited! I'm so glad Fallout didn't end up like Duke Nukem.
Fallout 2 is the best game ever in the history of mankind, and I hope Bethesda doesn't screw it up.
Also, the footage of project Van Buren is awesome. It's a shame it never came out. Especially after I heard of all the vehicles that were going to be in it(motorcycles! !!)
I hope Fallout 3 isn't a mix between GTA and Oblivion. I wan't my Fallout! Give me my Rads....
No its not just you, the graphics look like the Commodore Amiga computer graphics from around 1985.
I have been waiting 10 years for this game.
And yes the fallout 2 best game of all time
Yes, it looks like ass because;
1) it's a 4yr old prerelease presentation
2) It's from the time when RPGs were known for crap graphics in favor of in depth gameplay. The days before mass appeal and publishers only willing to fund generic *****e that will draw as many punters as possible.
I await Fallout, Oblivion style...that being watered down as much as can possibly be managed while still masquerading as an RPG, so as to appeal to as many numb nuts as possible.
Rest in peace Black Isle.
just shut up already.
If you comment on graphics, you don't deserve to play Fallout. Personally I liked the original the best, but 2 raped as well. Holy ***** I'm glad I bought an xbox now... hee hee im so happy
I dont know if its true but the Fallout MMO in alleged development is going to have me crashing like a stimfiend :)))
Oblivion is just too simple a game. If anybody honestly finds Oblivion hard, they must be retarded.
I hope Bethesda makes it for actual RPG lovers, after Morrowind I couldn't go back to Japanese RPGs. But RPG lovers are a small market (when it comes to western RPGs anyway) and they want to make money.
The graphics are from the Van Buren project, you sillyhead. That was being developed around 1998 with very little money. Interplay then went into bankrupt and Bethesda bought the license for Fallout 3.
The video that you just watched was very, very old. But real hardcore Fallout fans don't care about graphics. Fallout was never about graphics. It was about comedy.
In fact, go and buy Fallout 2 right now! If you don't like it, then e-mail me at rommelirico@hot mail.com and I will buy that copy from you.
