2Xtreme - Image 1 For those who want to go on another nostalgic trip down PS1 Lane, we're happy to inform you that 2Xtreme has just been released for download at the Playstation Store. It's a sequel to the title ESPN Extreme Games (a.k.a. 1Xtreme).

You can download the full game for US$ 5.99, and it's bound to take up 407MB worth of space on your drive. After that, you will once again be pulling off those snowboard, bike, skateboard, and inline skate tricks that you used to show off in 1996.

With 12 tracks to complete in at least four locations, get ready to kick, hit, and bite your way to the finish line with this oldie but goodie.

Oh, and remember to snag that HD trailer for flOw along the way, even if it's only for the music.

# Sony is cluelessGuest 2007-02-09 06:53
Sony needs to get its head out of its ass if they expect to win this round of the console war. The planning and execution of the PS3 has got to have been one of the most hamhanded examples of launch of any product ever anywhere. And this is just another example of it. No one cared about 2 extreme when it was on the Ps1. Why would they care about it on PS3? How about new tracks? How about dowloaded upgrades to existing games? More levels to Twisted Metal 2, as an example. People didn't buy a $600 machine + an ethernet cable + a $60 game + possibly an adapter for the memory card so they can dowload overpriced retreads that nobody cares about like this and lemmings. Where is the killer app, Sony? And $5.99? Whichever consultant recommended that should be fired. I can get GOOD PS2 games for less that that at Gamestop. Microsoft gets the concept here. Sony's developers seem to get it. I don't think Sony itself, though, does.

I like Sony. I bought a PS3. I think it has a lot of potential. But I wish they'd stop serving me crap and telling me its filet mignon.

Gosh, you know, you're right. Its just jim-dandy if Sony does a *****ty job, because hey, they're Sony, and we should like them, because well, they're Sony.

I mean why should demand things like, oh, I don't know, quality, reliable release dates for games and hardware, adequate supply chain, killer app innovation in the franchise when we can just be mediocre?

Guess what, slick, the market's too competitive for that, and if Sony doesn't start to wake up and do it, which they are not doing now not because they can't, but rather because they are too disorganized and/or lazy to do it, someone will do it for them. I would prefer my $700+ investment last for a while. You can defend it if you wish, but its one more example of poor planning and not understanding their market on the part of Sony.

The games are coming... just chill.

The thing hasn't even been out for 3 months yet.

The PSN will be upgraded soon (March) and I bet there will be more games available then.

I am having a great time with Madden and Resistance and A BR player. I'm sorry if you guys aren't. Maybe you should go play Gears. Or Lost Planet.

Nobody is forcing any of you to buy a PS3. If you don't think its worth it don't buy it, and they STFU.

Can't wait for Killzone and MGS!!!!

for instance the Final Fantasy series. Also Metal Gear Solid, Soul Blade, Need For Speed 3, and many, many others. They are probably trying to get people to buy as many as possible by trying to get the oldest games first so people might buy them on a whim and then later come out with the must haves. Me though, I am not interested in any they have had to offer besides the demos and some of the Playstation Store exclusives. I will for sure buy Tekken when they make it available.
