From our Tell-Us-Something-We-Don't-Know Department comes this news flash that won't come as a shock to anybody if it crawled and curled up inside his butt. Sony's PS3 consoles have sold out in Taiwan well before its launch date on November 17. However, the new info we got is that Sony only delivered 500 PS3 units to that part of the world.

According to Sony in Taiwan, 150 PS3 consoles will be available for sale at the launch ceremony in Taipei. The rest of 350 units were distributed to 35 selected retail outlets at 10 units each. The outlets include seven Tsann Kuen electronics stores, eight Fnac chain stores, and Sony's franchise stores. But like we said, all those units have already been reserved.

Let's see, 500 PS3s for an island with 22.7 million people. That means 45,500 Taiwanese will have to take turns on each PS3. Looks like Sony didn't do their math right. And you thought sharing the PS3 with your two brothers was bad? Be glad you're not in Taiwan where your chances of getting a PS3 is less slimmer.

» See Pirates

That's what happens when your country has a huge problem with piracy. Since they are taking a lost on the first several shipments of PS3's, why send them to a country where everyone copies the games, there's no money to make. Anyway more for us, sorry.

» oh god

This is getting absurd, just so they can claim global launch.

» And I Got One!

I knew the launch was tight here, but 150 Units? Christ. The worst part is Sony won't let retailers sell thier pre-ordered units until 7:30pm Friday because they don't want to start selling before the US launch. And we only get 3 games at launch here, Ridge, Genji, + Gundam. Where's Resistance?!
