Super Paper Mario with DS connectability? - Image 1

Here's something we came across in Flickr. It's a screenshot for the upcoming Super Paper Mario game by Nintendo. What makes it so intriguing is that it seems to hint that there will be Wii and DS connectivity very soon.

Check out the Nintendo DS Lite on the wall and the text that says "awaiting data upgrade." We're not sure but the Wii may get an update soon to allow connectivity. How this will affect future DS and Wii games is still anyone's guess.

The connectivity between Nintendo's handheld and full-grown console should make for a lot more kid-friendly fun. Here's hoping it happens soon.

Could be a photoshop, I'm sure if this was true, Nintendo would've promoted it more, it would get the game and the DS more sales.

» hope so

an update of this kind would be very good, it could pave the way to using the DS as a keyboard/mouse when browsing or sending messages.

» umm...no

i own the game, never seen a single thing on this, in manual or anything...pretty sure it's false. Nintendo already slated Pokemon to be first wi-fi wii game and is also expected if not determined to be the first wii-ds compatible game. Check IGN's newest Tuesday update to see the whole wii-ds issue.

Maybe they decided to not put it on the box because it wasn't a big part of the game (did they show GBA connectivity for tWW? I forgot). Or maybe they decided it to become a surprise to all (because they added it in last minute).

Ok, so you own the game, but does that mean that you've entered into ever single house? Talked to every single NPC? Who knows what secrets may unlock when this happens.

And I know as for a fact that this not false. Here is as much proof as anyone can give you:

Watch this video and about half way through you'll find the exact same scene as above: http://ia340910.us.archive.org/3/items/Super_Paper_Mario_6-10/spm_6_256kb.mp4

If you want to know the location of the DS Lite, go to the First Floor of Flipside where you should enter a Soup House with a Chef named Saffron.

Booyah, now all you nonbelievers be quiet

» yes but no

The screenshot is real, I've encountered it in-game.

I'm not convinced it has to do with DS connectivity. I'd assumed it meant that, as with TTYD, the cook gets an upgrade at some point to allow her to combine two items instead of transforming only one.

this place is in a store in Flipside, on the 1st floor in the bakery place where you can make food. It's not like they put that in there for no reason, so there HAS to be a patch sometime to allow a link-up between the DS and the Wii (maybe New Super Mario Bros.?)

» close..

In the game, you find data disks with new recipies on them. When you add a new disk to the DS Lite wall image, it displays that message.

Get the Nintendo Power Official Strategy Guide for more info.

I just finished the third level and the DS hanging on the wall displays data on the different food items I have either found or created. Sorry.
