Weekend Slowdown: Animal Crossing calls girl a "F***ing cow"? |
Ó
Some ace attorney may have found a new game to sue, as a Scottish girl claims Nintendo's Animal Crossing swore at her. The 11 year old school girl Khloe Leslie was shocked when the game called her a "f***ing cow."
As most of us know, Animal Crossing is not a mature game about monsters or humans with animalistic nature. Leeanne, 28, the girl's mom, banned her from the game that she thought was for kids.
Nintendo UK's spokesman said "it is either a pirate copy or it is user-inputted text". Swearing on a game rated 'E', huh? How likely was that?
(Sorry for the mini-censor bar in the pic! We have to keep the blogs clean of *udder* cursing. LOL!)

Surprise surprise. Blue text in AC is inputted by someone else if I recall.
I wonder if this is an old AC cart bought second hand?
Regardless, one would hope that any potential legal action will be laughed out of court.
Where's Jack Thompson when you need him?
It's not photochop, its user submitted text. If you talk to certain characters in game, you can eventually give them "new sayings," and someone could easily just say whatever they want, no matter how obsene it is.
My wife played AC as much as I did, and she's 90% sure that when someone leaves your town and moves into somebody elses if you've been on wifi, it takes all that with them. I seem to recall the one person I had move into my town from a friends town over wifi had his stuff intact.
Not sure though. Been a year or so since I played the game religiously.

Not to mention that animal crossing automatically censors "offensive" words, even though there are some that you can get away with, eg "d**khead". I'm pretty sure that "f**king" would be censored though.
It isn't the game...someone made a character with that name. The game character is referring to a human made character. Nice try.....
lol i sold my copy of AC and i added that.
