EA is revving up the engine on its upcoming Need For Speed ProStreet's career mode which promises to give you a taste of what may be the trend bubbling up on the street racing scene worldwide. The devs took the liberty to explain all the elements in a nutshell, so listen in:

As mentioned in the trailer, you'd have to be good in all four street racing styles to qualify for the world-class arena of the unorthodox motorsport. Master drag, drift, grip and speed challenge styles and be rewarded with unlockable organizations and locations across Europe and Asia.

Need For Speed ProStreet deviates a bit from the raucous, open-track style that made the franchise popular. Racing circuits are now more closed and physics have gotten more realistic than ever. Will the infusion of simulation elements give the series a boost? We'll see, but judging from what we're seeing, it very well could. This hotrod is slated for almost every platform available: the PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PS2, Wii, PSP, and DS.

I've always liked the NFS games although I liked the Underground versions the least of the franchise but they were still good.

I actually kind of don't like it when they make us jump through hoops like they do in the career modes. I like the NFS games but the part I like the most is building and driving my cars. I don't like being forced to do certain races.

» yeee...

ye i know what you mean... some races get repetative n boring. i wish you could just unlock parts by reaching top speeds or doing stunts or or something of that sort... just through cruise mode.. that would be cool. yet i still like the challenging part of the nfs games

» eh...

The car designs look a little lame...if they turn out to be decent and pretty deep in customization, then I probably will look into it.

I like the Underground series ok but to me Most Wanted was the best. Carbon was lame and I hope this new one is better than Most Wanted.
