Eyebrows were raised and frustration ensued when Square Enix discretely revealed a project by revered developer tri-Ace that we only discovered through scans of Japanese magazines without proper details to bank on. Fortunately, we can now rest assured that Valkyrie Profile: The Accused One for the Nintendo DS does hold promise evidenced by its debut trailer.

Lenneth Valkyrie is indeed back, but not without new companions. In Valkyrie Profile: The Accused One's trailer, Lenneth is seen lifting the soul of a dead warrior which fans know as the process necessary to turn valiant fighters into einherjar who are allies of the valkyrie.

It is said that the protagonist in Valkyrie Profile: The Accused One is a man named Wilfred so he can be the fallen person, but we have doubts after previous descriptions led us to believe he's a human in the flesh. One thing's for sure: if this Japanese debut trailer is not followed by an announcement for the game's western release, Ragnarok between followers of Lenneth and Square Enix will be inevitable.
