Ubisoft: The best software line-up in company history |
Ó
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has proudly stated that in 2007-2008, they will be releasing the best software line-up in the company's history. Looking at the games they plan on churning out, we can't see any reason to doubt his bold words.Guillemot justified his statements by saying that in the given time period they will be launching "seven franchises including Brothers in Arms and Splinter Cell; six new brands, including Assassin's Creed, EndWar and Haze; and four licensed games, including Surf's Up, Lost and Naruto" That's a powerhouse line-up if you ask us.
So far, the company has had success with its support of the Nintendo Wii. They have capitalized on the fact that other game developers underestimated the Wii's popularity. Guillemot has given word that they plan on continuing this trend saying "we intend to reap the full benefits of the ramp-up of new generation consoles and grow, again this year, our presence in the casual market on Wii and Nintendo DS systems."
Yes, Ubisoft is on the rise, but it really depends on the market trends whether they will be hitting their 800 million Euro sales target. From all indications though, they are set to have the best fiscal year in the entire history of the company.

This is good news for the market
Come on who are you kidding on some of these ports.. you are bumping them all into better postions for sales numbers... Rainbow Six is prime example of waiting for a large user base and better sales period...
For that I will not be buying some of your games... Like RB6 and AC...
I can delay and put off buying your games as well... and so can many other gamers...
yeah too bad ubisoft sucks.
Ubisoft turning into EA?
Ports, Ports and more Ports...
(Just money whores really, and then they're games die)
I won't even call them a game developer company. They suck. They can't even port a game after six months (Rainbow Six Vegas). And when they finally figure it out, the game totally looks like crap (Blazing Angels, Splinter Cell). The make all games for Xblows 270 and Windows, and port to everything else. Cell is tooooo hard. WHAAAA! They just buy up small game devs, and then ruin the product.
Hope Billy Boy doesn't stop too fast, or old Yves will give him a free rectum exam.
You should have patience. Ubisoft is a great company and you can't deny that they do have some god franchises. If some games got delayed, there much be a reason. Would you prefer to play Rainbow Six Vegas on the ps3 with lots of glitchs and errors or wait a little bit and have one great experience with it? I understand it got delayed several times but hey they are trying to make it a good title on the ps3... have patience man.
And who cares? Some of their games look promising enough. I will be buying Assassins Creed, even if it's from a company that releases ports.
They need to stop with their half assed ports.. Ubisoft needs to learn the hardware and they need to start making quality games.. Rainbow Six Vegas, Assassin Creed Better not be another half ass port with slow frame rate, bad graphics, and no voice support.
