Ubisoft confirms release date for Europe's Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword - Image 1Near the start of April, Ubisoft announced that it was making plans to release Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword to Europe's DS community by June.  Aside from that, however, the company didn't give an exact release date.

That's about to change with today's update, though. An Ubisoft spokesman has confirmed that Dragon Sword has been scheduled for a June 27 launch.

The handheld iteration of Itagaki's Ninja Gaiden series will have players reprising their role as Ryo Hayabusa, in a storyline taking place prior to the events of Ninja Gaiden (Xbox).

Dragon Sword in particular will employ the DS's touch screen extensively, with players making appropriately drawing gestures to execute attacks and spells. We'll let you know if we run into any further details regarding this announcement.
