Now here's something cool. If you love roughneck monsters and football, then you'll love Blood Bowl. Actually, you don't have to like either of the two to appreciate this game. There are two video below that'll show you how cool these monster-jocks are.

The first one shows a team of minotaurs. It looks like these guys don't even need to switch lineups for offense and defense - they'll trample on the opposition either way.

The next one is the goblin team. What these guys lack in size, they make up for in sheer grit. Why bother running all the way to the end zone with your tiny goblin legs when you big goblin pal can just throw you there?

Blood Bowl combines the contact-sport of American Football with the bloodlust of the usual RTS races. Pick one of four teams - Humans, Orcs, Elves, and Dwarves, and make use of their their special advantages to win the game. Cyanide Stuidos developed this title for the Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, and the PSP, and it's set for release on Q2 of 2009.

» COOL Game!

This looks like a cool game. Just hoping that this game offers a long quality gaming time for us PSP owners.

Eagerly waiting..

» Played the PC-version as a kid.

I had Blood Bowl on PC (486) years ago. Unfortunately I deleted it and hadn't backup copy. Gotta say it's pretty interesting turn based (blood)sport game.

» yeah welll

Game trailers show nothing of the actual gameplay. These clips are great - and mostly represent the PC or high end console versions of the trailer.

They don't show PSP content, nor much about the game.

'tis a shame though because Bloodbowl is certainly one of the best games that Games Workshop ever produced and is a lot of fun as well.

The full version of the game will have both 'real time' and 'turn based' modes. The original game was turn based and whilst it sounds like a sports game, the actual gameplay is strategic with a mix of luck.

If they implement both formats into the game well this should be a really good game and a potential early 2009 hit.

You can play the old style version of the game online now with a java client for free at fumbbl.com

It's an online realtime league where you can create and develop teams whilst playing against people all over the world. Until this game hits the streets, check it out - you can even download the games' ruleset online for free.
