Love 'em or hate 'em, but Call of Duty games set in World War II- may still be coming down the road according to Call of Duty: World at War (PS3, Xbox 360, PC, Wii, DS) developer Treyarch.

"I can't say that there won't ever be a WWII Call of Duty game again, but we're glad we were able to end the war and we're glad we're going to support the title with lots of downloadable content," said senior producer Noah Heller in a recent interview with CVG.

Even though Heller said that "the war is over" with World at War, he also added that Treyarch would have wanted to show the war's end from many different countries' perspectives. "Maybe that's a story still untold."

Heller pointed out that "people definitely haven't seen the final charge of the Red Army, people haven't seen what the fighting was like in Okinawa", suggesting that if Treyarch ever makes another WWII-set Call of Duty game, it could very well focus on these events.

In an interview with GamePro, they said that this would be the last WW2 game in the entire COD series. I don't really care much since I'll buy COD5 for the online co-op, but meh, whatever happens, happens.

A low price, good textures and good gameplay is much more important to me than the story (as long as it's war it's all the same)

I agree with you as long has it has good game play and some nice textures everything is fine and dandy. But if the story isn't good I wouldn't even give it a second thought of playing the stupid story mode. I'm will aware of how everyone is entitled to what they think. But personally I think we had enough of WWII. We've had so many freken games on WWII I it's disgusting. Especially how old the guns are... CoD4 was modern I'm more of an tech guy, I like to see some cool gadgets. If I do buy this game it won't be cause I like this game, more like so to play with my friends.

I'm sticking with CoD4, then moving straight onto Killzone2, when it's out - maybe with a bit of Resistance 2 in between.

It bothers me that for the first 3 CoD Games, were all WW2, as soon as there was a modern one, everyone was all "omg, WW2 sucks, they need more modern stuff like 4!!!111!".

CoD is old fashion. That's why people liked it.

But on topic, I think wars from other perspectives would be very cool actually. Would be cool to be the Red Army. :P

Now that they are covering the Pacific in COD5 WW2 will be pretty well exhausted. There are a few more things to explore, but not much. From the American side anyway.

I personally am not a huge fan of the modern setting of 4, it's cool, but not as cool (imo) as WW2.

COD6 should either be set in the future or Nam or Korean war. There still has not been a good Nam or Korean game.

We get it! WWII happened! Stop it!

What was wrong with COD4? It was a perfectly well-rounded game! (Perhaps a little short) but other than that, it was absolutely beautiful.

Screw Treyarch, get IW back in there and let them rock another modern game.

If they don't want to do that, the COD4 engine would be perfect for a WWI game. Haven't seen too many of those kicking around. Anything but WWII.

I mean, we have Medal of Honor, Brothers in Arms and Call of Duty. All the three word WWII games. ENOUGH ALREADY.

Let's see some originality. We've already seen the Pacific with MOH.

No one complained when CoD3 came out (not about the setting anyway. The game itself...). Now that COD4 has been released it's all GRRRR NO MORE WW2

And no one cares that MOH did the Pacific because MOH is a shi*ty game.

See my above comment; there has never been a GOOD game set in the Pacific, Korea, or Vietnam. All of them have sucked hard, so all of those are still fair game.

WWI could be interesting, if done right
