The Nintendo Weekend Warrior: DSi launch date, Dead Space Wii confirmation, homebrews |
Ó
After taking five for quite some time now, The Weekend Warrior just took his Conan the Barbarian-like sword and took it to the nearest smithy. This time, the DS and Wii Weekend Warriors have joined forces, merging into the new Nintendo Weekend Warrior, bringing you all the big news from an Italian plumber's pipeline.
Easily the biggest gnome on the Wii's garden this week is the user-profiling report on gamers' console preference. Apparently, the older gamers, particularly those who grew up with the NES, SNES, and PSOne, simply followed the steps of console evolution and followed it up to the PS3. As for the Wii, the very successful Nintendo console extends its influence into newer gamers, turning non-gamers into casual gamers.Link: Report: PS3 has oldest gamers, Wii has youngest
On the DS side of the fence, the DSi is now available for pre-order at GameStop in the United States. For US$ 25, you can reserve one of up to 40 units that'll be available per store.

Rumors rumors going around. It seems last week's love triangle drama between EA, Activision, and Brutal Legend has come to a close. So now, we're getting rumors that Brutal Legend is coming to the Wii, courtesy of EA. And now the mastermind who brought us Smash Bros. is all set to bring us a new game "that's different from anything [you've played] until."

Despite the rumors and open-ended news bits, at least something's getting confirmed. A Wii-exclusive Dead Space game got confirmed, and there's a trailer to boot. Plus GTA Chinatown Wars is up for pre-order, so that's better than gold.Link: Wii-exclusive Dead Space game confirmed

Most of the Wii and DS homebrew games and apps don't really get second looks, but is the one that caught our eye, and yours. That's speaking relative to the attention that our Wii and DS brews get hahaha. For starters, Scanff released his very useful WiiRadio, a ShoutCast stream player for your Wii. With over a thousand radio streams all over the web at its disposal, this app owns.

I laugh at the idea of Dead Space for the wii -- In the game, all lights are fully functional, your gun shoots silly string, and when you cut off an enemies head by accident, sugar and candy comes pouring out.
