Rubik's Cube - Image 1Believe it or not, there's actually more than one way to play the Rubik's Cube. Or at least, that's what The Game Factory wants to tell us by bringing developer Two Tribes' Rubik's World (Nintendo Wii, DS) to North America. It's based on the insanely popular puzzle by Emo Rubik, but made for even those who are yet to solve the cube.

Rubik's World isn't just the digital version of the famous puzzle. Instead, it's one of those titles on Nintendo platforms that come packed with various minigames.

"Players will test their brainpower by constructing 3D shapes and objects, navigating through mazes and even creating their own soundtracks," said The Game Factory through press wire.

Doesn't sound much like the Rubik's Cube to you? The game's premise is that it will allow players to actually enter the core of the cube, so don't expect conventional color matching here. Rubik's World offers players the chance to connect to a community of fans of the puzzle, with the Wii version hosting an online message board.

With that said, little is known about what types of games Rubik's World has. We do know it's slated for release this fall (US$ 39.99 for Wii, US$ 29.99 for DS), so time will tell.
