Tycho and Gabe - Image 1

Penny Arcade has recently published a three-frame comic strip in its site based on their experiences finding a copy of the seemingly rare Puzzle Quest. The comic features Tycho and Gabe talking about the game with a dialogue that pokes fun at killing and games. The character talks in a way similar to a certain public figure infamous in the gaming world.

Need a clue? He's been suing people left and right for violent content in video games which he sees inappropriately rated by electronic media regulatory boards.

On a side note, there's been some buzz with people saying that the game is a little hard to find the past few weeks. Although the game has a PSP version, some gamers prefer the one on the PC because of the display size. Apparently, some don't enjoy the game fully when all the text crowds up in the PSP's screen. Blending RPG and puzzle elements, the game has hit a significant niche in the crowded game market.

Puzzle Quest is also available for the DS and mobile platforms.

» GO LOOK YOURSELF!

With the whole internet at your disposal, you couldn't take five minutes to search for yourself? I swear, this new generation of people never cease to amaze me.

I saw a program on TV about how technology makes people lazy (or even lazier for that matter). If this is how the new generation of people are, then I truly feel sorry for you and your children.

You're not the first person I have come across the show your ineptitude on the internet, so you're not alone. If you can take 10 seconds to type such a witty comment and show the world how truly retarded you are, then save us the time and bandwidth and your embarrassment -- USE FREAKING GOOGLE OR SOMETHING.

» Cry cry cry, some more.

Meh, who gives a rat's ass. I googled it and still want to say, "What's Puzzle Quest?" Maybe because to me, it's just a puzzler trying to be something else. O well, what ever keep's ya entertained. For some people, it's crying about people who don't google, for others it's playing puzzle quest.

puzzle quest is an rpg where all the fighting resembles bejewled... I have it... I am oddly addicted... it's just... scarily fun to play...

by DCJoeDog - 2007-03-27 00:05
» What is it?

It is Bejeweled except you have an opponent also trying to do the same puzzle. Gem matches give you mana by color, gold matches give gold (duh), purple star matches give extra XP, and skull matches attack your opponent's HP. You have magic(offensive and defensive) and first to lose all their HP loses the fight. Add to all that an RPG story that is surprisingly good to read. I got it as an iso not thinking about it and I was surprised to see how awesome a game it is.

Just to put it in perspective, also downloaded Burnout Dominator, Full Auto 2:Battlelines, and After Burner:Black Falcon and I play Puzzle Quest almost exclusively. It's just that good.

» Um, what?

What, in that comic strip, was at all similar to Jack Thompson?? Maybe I wasn't high enough to see the connection.

» Again, you fail.

Doing a google search would have gotten you about 3,870,000 for puzzle quest. (in 0.06 seconds). Yes, over three million hits. If you didn't notice, the home page of the developer is on top of the list. Going to their site and reading about the game in their "The Game" section tells you what kind of game it is.

If you still can't understand what the game is, then maybe you should try to read up on it and put a little effort in your part. This whole site is dedicated to games on various platforms (you can even click on a tag name to find more info about it if you haven't noticed).

How hard can it be? And if you *still* can't find any information about the game, then you truly are hopeless, and a lost cause. At this day and age, technology has made sloths of the new generation of kids, and they truly expect people to actually do the work for them. I guess there is some truth to the media after all. Not everyone wants to "s***** feed" you. Cut off the umbilical cord already.

Your witty reply again shows everyone how "slow" you truly are. If you think "Puzzle Quest is a puzzler trying to be something else", after doing a google search *and* making some effort on your part to find out what kind of game it is, then you seriously need some help. You really don't need to be a rocket scientist to learn or know how to use the internet. Being so easy to use, and failing to comprehend how it helps you not look like a dolt, really shows us ow incapable you are.

I don't mean to come off as singling you out and "attacking" you directly, but come on. Your reply just failed so miserably.

And in case you didn't notice, he wasn't talking about Puzzle Quest. Try reading the topic before posting. Personally, I don't think the comic had ANYTHING to do with Jack Thompson either. Just QJ trying to read too much meaning into it.

» Wow

Way, to not notice the sarcasm, you are a little dense huh? I did google, and you tell by keyword's in my comment. Like Puzzler, rpg, it trying to be something else. Wow, just wow.
