Ergon has just released his first DS homebrew game which he calls SuperPang DS. Based on the original arcade game known as Pang, Pomping World and Buster Bros, the gameplay involves shooting balloons with a harpoon gun. However, the balloons divide into two each time they are shot until they
reach their smallest size. Shooting them then makes them burst into
nothingness. The goal is to harpoon your way through 16 countries and for this reason, Pang has been described as highly addictive and frustratingly hard. SuperPang DS v0.1a is currently in alpha stage but Ergon says that it's playable and he is working on porting the complete game. In the meantime, he has included instructons on how to play the game:
- Press L to make a big ball on appear
- Press A to shoot double arrow
- Press B to break all balloons (in case of emergency)
- The collision is not as precise as it should
- The player is not invincible "just after died, so it could enter in a die-loop if plenty of balloons (press B in that case)"
- The balls are a bit on the speedy side
