haha this rules and all to turn on a sega genesis X-D.
Good for their first time but its not even vaguely worthy for posting as "news", its hardly even worth watching. I'm going to video myself alphabetising by ninty games so I can get on the news! ^_^
lol, The Sega part was the best XD. I wonder what there approach was up to that point. My take on it was how the creators showed how Nintendo Dominated the market (Clearly showing there best titles) until the arrival of the Sega Genesis heh.
Really good for their first go, but I didn't like that the ball was animated rather than having physics, but maybe I'm just picky.
Would have been better if you had mentioned that it is a Rube Goldberg machine animation. i thought this blog was supposed to be about educating people. I swear these news pages get worse everyday.
how ironic, all goodNES to end up turning on a sega genesis loll
That was pretty cool for an intro animation for that 3D class. ;)
BTW, does anyone know of a freeware program that can capture streaming video? I would like to capture this video and some other streaming video that doesn't normally allow you to save them to file... Thanks for any help.

Won't do flash and stuff thought...
I thought it was awesome, too, but I'm glad that someone else noticed that ball was running on a pre-set track as opposed to letting a physics engine control it.
What's the song that plays right after the Duck Hunt sequence and before the ball gets to the Mario Bros. sequence? The one that's playing while the ball is going down the blue path.
Good concept, decent modeling, awful animation. The balls movements are not fluid and believable. Could have been so much better with just a little more time spent on smooth ins and smooth outs. The extremes were good, but the inbetweens were robot like.
Sorry if I seem a little hard, but I'm an animation major and I do this kind of stuff all the time...The first thing u do is a perpetual ball drop, and they didnt even get that right....
Oh, and physics engines are for video games, not for animators.
coooooooooooooo oool

i agree number 14 gtauk
I think this was good, and for the big 'animation major' thier just students dude...geez
That was a pretty good video, and it does seem a lot like that honda advertisment, or maybe it was toyota, i cant remember.
Drinkh2s04, did you NOT read the description for the video! It said this was the first time the students used a 3D modelling software to create an INTRO to their 3D animation class. I think most of us assume that means they are just rookie 3D animators. ;) Stop acting all high and mighty because you know more...in fact, why don't you create something better instead of criticizing. Sure, I saw that the ball physics were off, but *****, it was their first time doing this, so I gave them a break.

All that music and video made me really nostalgic. 2 thumbs up for this video. Man do I miss the old days... when a top down 8-bit Zelda game with some decent midi music could set the world on fire. Now an awesome GBA Zelda release barely causes a stir. Ah well... I'll just keep on remembering.
to Answer #10 that was Marble Madness! Cool little video though!
This is cool! Someone should make an animation that starts with the Atari 2600 and move through the decades until we hit the current generation... :)
That was funny. Totally wasnt expecting that.
That was friggan awesome. But I'd like to know what that blue track game/song was, too. Was that supposed to be Ice Climbers or something?
That was really funny and nostaligic. Who cares if it isn't news. At least it gives you something new to look at. There isn't enough news out there to give you something new to read every day so its nice to have something to see when you check the site.

The blue track was Marble Madness! Game from about the same time as duck hunt.
