Rumor: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed pushed back? - Image 1

If you were among those eagerly awaiting the arrival of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed  (PS3, PS2, PSP, Xbox 360, Wii, DS), we have some potentially upsetting news. There's apparently a rumor in circulation that hints that the game's expected April launch will be delayed.

No other details are available at this point on why it's been pushed back, although the rumor hints that we could be facing a September launch. We make mention that IGN has listed Force Unleashed for an August launch, though we note it's unclear if this is indeed the case.

So, where does that leave us? One bit of speculation we picked up via Destructoid hints the delay was due to Grand Theft Auto 4's (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) upcoming launch, which is also this coming April.

GTA4 was also the recent topic of discussion by Mike Hikey. The Janco Partners analyst assessed that Rockstar's game could spell trouble even for the debut of the Iron Man movie for early May.

Of course, we remind you guys that this is just a speculation - visit us again in case we receive more solid info regarding when The Force is sure to be Unleashed.

» Deffinitely Speculation

I think most people would rather pay for a brand new Awesome looking Star Wars game then more of the same old stuff. Im not saying GTA is bad, but do you really think much is changed at all.

» More than what meets the eye here.

Lucas almost always releases his major projects in September. It's a core part of his belief system. 3-6-9.

» If that's the case...

Why not release it in June. Though the Star Wars films were always released in May.

» SW dates

His birthday is in May he lines the movie releases around this usually. The September release date is more for his 'religion' reasons i think.

» that's fine with me

if it were released earlier, i'd most likely not get it because of mgs and all the great games coming out at that time.

» Don't Mind

Look at it like this more time to save up money and work out the bugs. I am a big Star Wars fan so i am not worried one bit.
