Star Wars: Rianna's not so lethal moves

Being a Star Wars addict myself, it makes me a bit sad to know that initial reviews for Star Wars: Lethal Alliance (PSP, DS) are rather lukewarm. But instead of being the immature person I sometimes am, I'd like to take a few steps back and examine the matter.

When it really boils down to it, I really have no problems with gameplay. Just take a look at this one for starters. This short video clip shows how the lock-on feature of the game can be lethal to your enemies. Just think of GTA and the right shoulder button and you will know what I mean.

In the end, I guess the problem kind of lies in the playable characters. Twi'lek Rianna Saren is one of the Jedi knights who has been given enough exposure, both in the original stories as well as in the expanded universe. However, we have to keep in mind that Lethal Alliance took place between Episode III and IV and the only Twi'lek action we saw there is a jedi knight being killed in the great Jedi Purge.

Maybe Rianna Saren is one character a game can't be built upon. Well, in the end, that's just me. For all we know, Star Wars Lethal Alliance will be appreciated after all. What do you think?

I actually like the game, granted he lock on feature can be annoying at times but for the most part the game was nice. I liked the way they centered the game around a character that wasn't a Jedi. Maybe she is a Jedi I don't know that much about all the characters in star wars. But at least she didn't have a lightsaber. I like the lightsaber fighting and all but it gets old after awhile for me anyway and this is a nice change of pace. I also like the way you have to work with your robot partner. This is my second favorite star wars game on the psp first being lego starwars II. I hated that battlefront game, I'll probably get alot of hate for that but it just wasn't for me.

# Looks and sounds crap :(aNILEator 2007-01-03 22:59
This reminded me of doom.... Generic 'uhhh' sounds for shooting someone the gun sounds like crap too

the environments look similar to old doom games, if this had been done a bit more like prince of persia/Tomb Raider Legends then possible it would be better?

bad. and i hate to say that about a star wars game but from that it looks terrible. the only good games that didn't include you playing as a jedi were Empire at war (which still had a lot of problems) and battlefront (and in 2 they finally put the jedi in) so idk why they're bothering to make a game where we dont play as a jedi. thats what 90% of us want. oh well. and least the next gen jedi knight game looks good.

Why do they have to keep raping the Star Wars license like this?! Just make a Great Star Wars on the Wii so we forget all the crap that came out in the last years

Rianna Saren will get more exposure from sucking my balls than by staring in this game.

If your not playing as a Jedi, the only personm worth playing as is Han Solo. Dash Rendar from Shadows of the Empire was about the only non Jedi charcter worth playing that was remotly fun.
