Square Enix still has no plans of Final Fantasy V and VI remakes

Unlike its predecessors, Final Fantasy V and VI never made it to the Nintendo DS. Square Enix senior VP and official Tweetster Shinji Hashimoto said that it was due to technical problems. Now that Nintendo has a beefier new DS coming to town, will the tides turn to a more favorable outcome?

The answer isn't exactly a flat out "no" but there isn't any mention of technical problems this time around. “As you saw from Nintendo’s press conference yesterday, there is new hardware coming out,” Hashimoto told Siliconera. “We knew that was coming. We had to make decisions understanding that there were hardware changes in the near future and where want to put our resources.”

Seeing as the 3DS lineup had no mention of half-Espers and poorly conceived villain names (yes, Exdeath, I'm talking about you), Square Enix still hasn't said anything about the possibility of a pair of new remakes, be it on the 3DS or the regular DS. Hashimoto simply said, "No decision has been made."

If VI gets announced for the 3DS, then it truly will be *the* definitive handheld what with MGS, Resi and Ocarina Of Time

 Those game's are always in my opinion going to Nostalgic classic's I still have those games from the 8) SNES day's.But why no better remake from these classic's?..It doesn't make any sense that they would just skip out on these 2 games for other games?.Hashimoto your not thinking smart anymore..

It actually depends on the sales 3DS produces. I get this feeling that it's going to sell well.

or is Square rejecting remakes for their most popular games? They must be cooking something incredible up. They must be!
