Spreading spores: new Spore for PC, DS, Wii; possible for PS3, 360 |
Ó
Outlining the future of the Spore franchise, Maxis has now revealed that new titles will be heading out. Four new installments are confirmed for now. If all DNA replication goes well, they may be out by this year. Other than that, there's also the possibility of eventually seeing Spore hit the PS3 and 360.First up, the Wii will finally be getting Spore: Hero. No, I don't think it has anything to do with guitars. It is, however, the Spore franchise's debut on the Ninty console, and it's going to be more adventure-based set in a new world.
Meanwhile, the DS will also get its second Spore title following last year's Spore Creatures. This one's called Spore: Hero Arena. Though no details were outlined for this version, you can easily assume it's going to tie-in with the Wii version (I'm guessing something like Pokemon linking between the Wii and DS).
As for the PS3 and Xbox 360, will we ever find Spore? Here's senior producer Morgan Roarty, explaining that there is a possibility:
I think first and foremost we'd have to have the right design. The obvious out of the box thinking would be to port the PC product... but I don't think that's really the right design. [We'd] possibly go deeper into space... but in my mind, before something like that would get greenlit, it would have to be the right design.
Glad to see that they're moving away from the "of just port it from the PC version" field.
Speaking of the PC, tthere's going to be two more Spore installments for the PC. There's an expansion called Spore: Galactic Adventures being lined up for the core game that was released last year. The expansion will be going deeper into the space stage of Spore and give it a bit of a LittleBigPlanet twist.
And then there's also Spore: Creature Keeper - this one oriented more towards kids. It's going to be a standalone PC game which is something like a mini-Sims game.

I wonder how the gameplay works... I have DS spores creatures(Which sucks!)... and PC Spores(Which got me hooked into it for a couple of days and eventually found it boring)... "Spore : Hero" for Wii? Hope more info will be released soon...
ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ
is the single worst game I have ever played. I DESPISE THAT EXCUSE FOR A GAME.
No matter how many claws you have on the creature, it does the same damage! And claw/spitter location doesn't matter at all! I could put a claw into its butthole and it would still "strike" the target perfectly. What *****.
I hate to say it but I agree. I had really high hopes on Spore, only to end up completely dissappointed. Spore is a great game.... for one day....
Spore will eventually get boring when you reach Space time. Which you could pull of in a few hours. And then there was the DRM disaster.....
Who cares.
