Ó

This. Game. Is. So. Cool.

I just had to write about the company that brought me hours of enjoyment (Battle Realms and Splinter Cell for the PC).

Ubisoft is going to be at the Games Convention in Germany. But what we really want to talk about are the new games (just in case you haven't heard about them).

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent: - Good gawd I loved playing the original Splinter Cell on my friend's PC! Crouching, hiding in shadows, doing ninja-style moves (instead of doing homework).

This new one is coming out for the Xbox 360 and PC soon: Ubisoft confirmed October 19 as the release date, but it's not clear if that's for the PC or for the Xbox 360 version. The demos and previews show that the graphics are amazing, the gameplay is smooth, and moves are awesome. I think you can expect the story to be just as good (if not better) than the original Splinter Cell (if it turns out I'm wrong, feel free to flame me, ha ha ha).

If you can't wait until October, there's good news! Ubisoft is working on a multiplayer demo for the Xbox 360 and a single-player and mutliplayer demos for the PC. Sorry though, there's no official date for the demo release, but they should be out more than a month before the game release (so that would be September, but that could also mean this month).

The Settlers - This is a strategy game (one of those slower construction ones) for the Nintendo DS to be released later this year. Players can choose to play as Romans, Vikings, Nubians, or Asians to try to take over the world. It's sort of like Age of Empires.

Here's a list of the other games announced:
  • Dark Messiah of Might & Magic: This is a first-person action game for the PC coming out towards the end of this year.
  • Call of Juarez: This is a Western shooter for Windows. It comes out in September of 2006.
  • The Settlers II: The Next Generation: Basically just like Settlers, only this is for the PC. It'll also come out September of 2006.
  • Horsez: A riding adventure for the PC for the end of 2006. I bet it has something to do with horses.
  • Open Season: This is an action adventure for the PS2.
If you're in the area, the Games Convention at Leipzig will run from August 23 to 27, 2006 (Ubisoft will be at Halle 3, Stand B02). If you happen to be a retail or press partner, you can visit them at Halle 2, Stand D12 on August 23 and on August 26. Ubisoft will also have a press conference at 12 noon on August 23, so we're waiting in case anything really interesting happens.

I'm with numero 5 on this one.. Splinter Cell is a great game, i just hope that the DS and PSP will do well with it - I didnt like Essentials and that crap one that was released earlier for the DS.
