FF13 demo - the big FF7ACC announcement - Image 1

Let me throw out this quick post to clarify things and set matters in order. I know probably a handful of you are waiting out for that "big FF7 announcement" that Square Enix promised to reveal during their DKS3713 event. Well, the event's finished now, and maybe some of you (myself included, to an extent) are asking "What the -- that's it?!"

Well, to the untrained eye, maybe the "big FF7 announcement" has just gone MIA, but actually, if you look close enough, it's there. The way I see it, the so-called "big FF7 announcement" or "BFF7A" (a term which I'm now coining, thank you very much) has actually already been revealed. Sorry to get your hopes down, but here's the deal:

BFF7A = FF13 demo included with FF7ACC

Yeap. That was it. I said as much yesterday in the "REMAKE 7" post, and I'm saying it again - now with more firm belief since the DKS3713 event is over and done with.

I know it might be tough for some of you to accept it, but if you want to take the fanboy route (which I hope you don't...), there's always the brighter side of the "oh well, at least the demo's going to be a PS3 exclusive" argument. (Which isn't entirely 100% sure yet though)

But moving on. How was the big FF7 announcement the FF13 demo? That's because if you trace back all this unnecessary hype to the original quote of Testuya Nomura, the only thing he did confirm were the following:
  1. They'll be announcing the release date of FF7ACC at the DKS3713 event.
  2. To accompany this announcement, they'll make another big announcement, and
  3. that it will shock the fans in attendance.
And that's just what happened (just not sure about #3 though...). They announced the release date for the FF7ACC Blu-ray, and alongside it, snuck in that bit about the FFXIII demo being included. To begin with, it shouldn't have been a "big FF7 announcement" but a "big FF7ACC announcement".

So there you go. Move along now. Stay toasty.

Where he hell did they say it will be a big VII announcement?

As far as I remember, it will be just a "major shocking annoucement which will shock fans"

It's exactly what the post said.

They said they will be giving a date for FF7ACC and alongside this, a big announcement that will shock the fans. People tought that along side FF7ACC the big announcment was also a reference to FF7.

Even if it wasn't a big FF7 announcement. They said it would be shocking and it wasn't. I mean I guess you could technically say that it was shocking at how disappointing the announcement was.

I'm not going to pay $30 for a demo of a game that will likely suck seeing as how Final Fantasy games all became crap after the PS1. I'll pass on this one.

but people should've guessed that the demo was the big announcement since the ff13 developers were the ones to confirm it

FFVII remake on Blu-ray (i.e. a game that couldn't fit on DVD) and MS version of FFXIII on 4 (or more) DVD discs...I could care less.

Final Fantasy hasn't been decent since the PS1 and SNES games imo. I was never looking forward to FFXIII because I know they will release a long, mediocre game that will leave you feeling unsatisfied. And the music score just isn't the same without Nobuo Uematsu.

there is never gonna be a FF7 remake so to all of you that want it... Either buy it for however much it sells for, download it and play it on a modded ps2, or emulate it on your computer and use a PC controller. to emulate PS1, you need like a pentium 3. Anybody that has a computer lower than that should go buy a new one.

# A regurgitation fest of chocobos and cidDragonova 2008-08-04 14:28
As a avid fan of SquareSoft games i.e the old days it seems to me Square Enix has run out of ideas with Final fantasy series after Final fantasy 9. The Final fantasy series nowadays has became a regurgitation fest of

chocobos and cid.

Since Hironobu Sakaguchi and Nobuo Uematsu left Square enix has no direction. It would be nice if Square enix would link the Final fantasy worlds together

and call it Final fantasy universe (MMORPG idea) at least for continuity just a thought .

I do understand the concept of how Final fantasy first originated with Hironobu Sakaguchi . And it has become a tradition to always make a new story when making a

Final fantasy game.

But damn I wish Square enix stop being so hush hush and secretive with their games it is really getting old and frustrating.

And give the fans what they want a FF7 REMAKE.

hmm so weird, the annoucement was one of the updates, i just looked at and kept reading, i didnt give a rats ass about it :p...it changes almost nuthing, as i wud neva play a demo of a game that will easily be worth buying, ruins the whole shock of the game id say.

You guys are really begining to pee me off! IT WAS NEVER SAID THAT THERE WAS GOING TO BE A BIG ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT FFVII SET TO SHOCK THE FANS! They just said there would be a big announcement. Nothing about FFVII and nothing about it going to shock fans. JUST a big announcement.

If you can't report gaming news right, then I'm going elsewhere as I'm getting sick to death of your hyped up rubbish!

That's been common knowledge pretty much since the announcement of AC Complete well over a year ago. Shocking?! Square-Enix is officially filled with the biggest *****ing retards that Japan gaming has to offer.

"Okay boss, the fact of the matter is that the fans love Final Fantasy 7. We don't know why, but they do. They want a remake of it. It wouldn't be hard, it wouldn't cost that much... We wouldn't even really have to add voices! The story's already done, we have a massive template for every character and area. What do you think? Should we do it?"

"Hell no son! Let's make some new crap that won't even really remind people of the good ol' days of FF3 and FF4, except for the pointless chocobos and moogles. Also, there has to be a character named Cid. You can name him Sid if you prefer. Get to work!"
