Sega and THQ team up in Europe for retail event |

Game publishers THQ and Sega have struck a deal that sets the stage for a collaborative effort in Europe where both companies will show their wares and engage in retail activities.While this doesn't necessarily mean that Sonic the Hedgehog will be wrestling John Cena anytime soon, it does set the stage for a more vibrant game atmosphere in the continent. THQ Vice President for International Publishing Ian Curran said that the collaboration was made possible by the companies' mutual respect for each other.
Curran Adds "we believe that we need a purely retail-focused event – there are very few egos involved between THQ and Sega and a lot of mutual respect in terms of what we’ve both achieved in the last few years."
"Without E3 and without a true pan-European event at the moment customers are going to have to traipse off to so many different publisher events," says Sega Europe president Mike Hayes. Hayes and Curran are both inviting other publishers to join the event to give fans more options.
A definite date for the event is yet to be revealed, but European fans are assured that whether Sega and THQ find new party members or not
