Sega and Omiya Soft teams up for Culdcept for the DS

Latest Culdcept Slated to Rock the DS Next Year - Image 1 Fans of the turn-based strategy video game genre will be delighted to hear that multinational Japanese video game software and hardware developer Sega teamed up with Omiya Soft develop Culdcept for the Nintendo DS. In an interview with Famitsu, Omiya Soft Producer Hideo Suzuki revealed some good news.


Culdcept fans can expect elevated gameplay from the game's previous versions with the addition of more cards alongside revisions of previous ones. According to  Suzuki, the game will have a total of 370 card types, including new types. Battles and trading with other players will also be made possible through Wi-Fi.

Satoshi Nakai will once again shoulder the job of handling the art of the DS version. Plus die-hard Culdcept  fans will be glad to hear that the games latest version won't stray too far from what they are already become accustomed to since the DS version will be based on Culdcept 2: Expansion for the PlayStation 2.

According to Suzuki, Culdcept  for the DS shall only be adjusted in terms of overall game balance and revision of existing card abilities. Not only that, Suzuki added that gamers unfamiliar with Culdcept will find the game easy to use with the reimplementation of past features found in Culdcept Second for Dreamcast.

Already eager to get a hold of the latest Culdcept? You might have to wait a bit more, for the game is still scheduled for release next year. So, hang in there!
