Scroll through your DS iPod-style with iMenu |
Ó
If you think that only our PSP site is constantly updated with the latest homebrew applications, games, and emulators, well think again. We give as much attention to Nintendo's handheld, too! And in our hands right now is another one to add to your growing list of homebrew DS apps, theNinjaBunny's iMenu.Okay, basically the iMenu allows you to scroll through your DS iPod-style, with the wheel scroller working pretty much like the real one you find in your iPods. This iPod-like menu is for the touch screen of your beloved handhelds and theNinjaBunny also boasts that it's so customizable, there's no need for graphics because everything is done by code.
We'll let the developer himself explain to you how it works, alright?:
It’s VERY VERY simple, using the menu will modify a variable called “ipod_state”, that variable has values as “IPOD_LEFT” (moving to the left), “IPOD_RIGHT” (the other side), “IPOD_PLAY” (when the play butto is pressed), ... etc (IPOD_BUTTON is the central button, IPOD_OFF is holding for seconds the play button, and IPOD_LIGHT for the menu one)
You only has to write a program to get the value of ipod_state (with a “switch(ipod_state)” for example)
As for the controls, you'll be able to move the wheel left or right, as well as click over the five buttons in the wheel. The long-click feature is also integrated into the scroll wheel, which means that if you hold down 'menu' or 'play,' the desired action will be executed. However, theNinjaBunny warns that this feature still isn't 100% accurate.
The developer also says that the image background is also customizable because the menu doesn't use any image. You can also customize your desired image's size and location. Enough talking though, just see for yourself whether this iPod-like DS menu is cool enough to score your thumbs up. Just click on the download link below and you're all set!

sw33t!
it would be sweet, if it controlled mp3... but it does/controls nothing(unless im doing sumthing wrong).
Hi, i updated the downloads.
Now it works better. And has a VIRTUAL MP3 Player (virtual means that's NO mp3 player) but it display text like
"The song XX is playing"
"The player is paused"
"volume 60"
So, it has to be SO EASY now for a mp3 player developer to use it on his own project...
