The manager of Cognitive Technologies, which is a Russian software company, spotted his software for sale illegally at a market in Moscow, so he does what any software developer would do.  He takes him to the ring and "hacks" into the pirates face with his boxing gloves.  Needless to say the pirate must of had his firewall down that day because the dev won the match 24-16.

In Feb. the developer saw the pirate selling the software at a computer market without a license, which turned into an argument and then a fight.  When a guard came to break it up the pirate wished to finish the fight in the street but the dev suggested to finish it legally in the ring.

Its nice to see the issue of piracy resolved quickly and easilly, rather than having some MPAA or RIAA pussies sending cease and decist letters out.

It went like this:

Software Dev (SD) found Pirate (P) selling illeagal copies of his products.

SD argues with P until fight breaks out.

Guard breaks up fight, SD offers to have a boxing match.

SD kicks P's ass in the boxing ring.

News is posted.

If every decision was settled through violence then only the most violent will get their way.

Anyway, this was a funny article. I suppose this would be a fantasy for most game developers.

"I thought this was PSP Updates, not "General Gaming Updates"...."

I thought the majority of the readers were intelligent enough to see how this is relevant to the PSP in an Off-Topic way. Perhaps I was wrong.

(In other words: if you don't like it, don't read it)

Yea they dont F#cuk around there. Youd be lucky to be alive because everything is dirty there and murder is very high. When i used to live in an apartment building, our neighbor had a kiosk he ran, but when the mob started to ask him for money he didnt have it, so they killed him. Life is horrible there, im glad i dont live in my country anymore otherwise i would grown up to be a con and killed people in my age right now.

pspupdates is goin down the pan with these pointless, needless news articles! recently they have posted a ps3 and xbox360 news here (one offs i hope) i suggest there be a 'general gaming' blog rather than people posting things bcoz they feel they have to post some news

Cool and funny article.

And I enjoy reading related stuff every once in a while. I read so much about homebrew, reviews and whatnot, it's refreshing to see something else.

And it's also good to be informed of MAJOR breakthroughs on other consoles, too. There's more in gaming than just PSP.

# kind of ironicGuest 2006-03-24 13:22
that's kind of ironic that it something like that happened in russia, as russia has one of the highet rates of piracy ever, since copyright laws often don't apply there. ou will often see movies for sale and even on television that have just hit theaters (or sometimes before o_O) in the US.

Yeah, pretty much all Russians are con artists or some other sort of illegal 'profession'. Sad, really.

So if the pirater would have won, would he still be allowed to sell the software?

You people need to relax about all of the non-psp related news. Just cuz it's a PSP site doesn't mean they can't post interesting things that you might find interesting to read. Jeeze people. They're just posting it, nobody is forcing you to read it, so calm down. I, for one, like these little articles, so shut up your mouths. PSP isn't the only video game system out there in the world.
