Rumor: Shenmue 3, other big Sega revivals at TGS?

Sega fans in the know are shaking their legs in anticipation for this year's Tokyo Game Show, and they have a pretty good reason why. Korean website Ruliweb dished out what is supposedly Sega's TGS 2007 lineup which seems to be more of a Sega fan wishlist.

Said to have cost US$ 70 million, Shenmue and its sequel easily became the biggest and most expensive series at the time. No thanks to the Dreamcast's early demise, many have missed the epic tale of Ryo in his quest to avenge his father. Still, Yu Suzuki's masterpiece created a following of zealous fans. Rumors have come and gone, and all hope is almost lost, but the list posted Shenmue 3 for the Xbox 360.

Other noteworthy titles coming from the classic archives include Fighters Megamix 2 and Virtua Fighter Kids 2. Some Dreamcast hits are also said to make a return, like ChuChu Rocket!, Skies of Arcadia 2, and Jet Set Radio Next.

Before this blogger throws fits, we'll have to say that the list is yet to be confirmed. Down to the rumor mill we go, but our ears are open for any official word. Here's what's supposed to be in store for Sega this TGS:

Shenmue is still to this day my favorite video game ever made. And Shenmue 2 was just as good, and I have been waiting for part 3 forever. But I mean this list is so fake! I really wish I could belive it, but I mean Skies of Arcadia 2, and Space Channel 5 Part 3, I mean come on 2 of the biggest sleeper games of all time getting a next gen sequel I highly doubt it. Needless to say I also Highly doubt any of these will make it as welll

But damn do I wish these were actually being made or what! The sonic RPG is for ds, and I mean the pure indication of having Fighters Megamix 2 (the original was on Saturn and was Virtua Figher vs Fighting Vipers) on this list shows just how fake this article is. Its like if Capcom were to make Marvel vs Capcom 3 which will never happen either sad but true

Still hoping one day Shenmue 3 will come out though

Which was freaking amazing, awesome setting, awesome story, and was the first game of it's kinda to play the way it did...

The second one was good, but not as good as the 1st, and the setting changed and so did the feel of the game abit....it didn't draw me in enough to actually finish it, not to mention thinking 3 would never come about so what was the point.

But now if this list is true, I'd be the happiest man alive....sequels to all the coolest DC games and shenmue 3....

now while not a really big reason, personally i always thought it'd be a toss up ps3 or 360

but one reason i could see it on 360 is for continuation from shenmue II

think about it, if you had shenmue I and II for Dreamcast you could just continue your save from I into II

Shenmue II is backwards compatible, so then for those of use who've beaten Shenmue II on Xbox 360 in BC could continue in Shenmue III

but i say either on 360 only or multi

preferably 360 only just to keep the series pure (being how Shenmue was supposed to be the PS2 killer playing shenmue on a playstation would feel wrong on so many levels and dreamcast left then xbox kind of took it's place, well for me at least)

I'm not sure the overall game will stand up very well after all these years. I'd have to replay the first two just to refresh my memory.. The story was interesting but I don't remember much distinctly other than getting a second plate from some cave. I think it was all the running through the forest.. Kinda made my brain go numb.

The Wii is just a upgraded Gamecube w/ a novelty controller. And seeing as it uses single layer dvds and only has 64MB of GDDR3, a 729Mhz CPU, a 64MB of memory (not used by the GPU), I doubt it would handle those types of games (well, maybe Sonic and the port of Shenmue 1+2). The 360 has 8.5GB discs and the PS3 currently uses 30GB discs (60 eventually), so developers won't be hurting for space and having to make a dumbed down, nunchuku interactive version that'll work on Wii. You'll probably never see a game on Wii that has graphics like FF13 and Fable 2. ^_^

Tenmen you wont see a red light of death....

If you put your 360 on its side it can reduce heating alot, and keep it on an open hard cool place, my xbox has never frozen, and I play it all day sometimes. I have mine sitting on its side on top of a big textbook, not on the carpet, and it is fairly close to an air conditioner vent. as long as you keep your xbox cool you will have a 95% chance it wont fail.

I bought Panzer Dragoon Azel from a friend for $25 after seein the prices on Ebay and man the only title this list needs is another Panzer Dragoon RPG and Ill be on the floor convulsing with foam on my mouth.

It was interesting trying to support yourself and having to get a job.

Then it also had a pretty crazy deep fighting system.

It was also asianesque out the ass, so anyone who likes asian stuff would like the game right away.

But, if this is true, I would finnish #2 on my 360....but you are right. Even for an xbox game it had pretty horrible graphics, as it was just a direct port of the DC game.

However, imagine a truly next gen version of the game.....O M G

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but if you go over to the Shenmue Dojo fansite or the Sega Nerds website, it has been confirmed the list is fake. But here's hoping for something special at TGS.
