Team Ninja - Image 1Tomonobu Itagaki's departure from Tecmo has caused quite a big stir in the gaming community. Why wouldn't it considering that this is the same dude who created hit games such as Ninja Gaiden 2 and Dead or Alive 5. Well, rumor has it that he's not the only one leaving the company.

There have been rumors circulating that  as many as three dozen more members of Team Ninja will be following Itagaki's example and will be filing a class-action lawsuit against Tecmo regarding unpaid bonuses for the games they've created.

However, Tecmo has released a statement which denies these allegations and insists that Team Ninja is intact (sans Itagaki) and is working on new projects as we report this:

Tecmo would like to assure its loyal fans that Team Ninja, known for its top-selling and critically acclaimed Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive franchises, is intact and, as a matter of fact, has several new projects already underway.

At this point, we're not really sure who to believe so we'll just have to wait and see how this whole issue plays out. Still, we can't help but wonder if key members of Team Ninja have left and are preparing to file a lawsuit against their former employer. In addition, this would also pose the question "who's left at Team Ninja?"

» must be liez.

3 dozen+ = Moar than 36, so why would that many people sue? They would've done it ages ago anyway.

» I would be supprised

3 dozen is way too much. Normally, some few supporters and/or friends would go with the boss, but not around 36 persons... And since I highly doubt that team ninja is more than 50 persons, I don't see more than half the team quitting. But since Itagaki wasn't payed the bonuses, I can suppose his employees didn't get it too (IF the employees should have been paid a bonus for the completion of the job), so it COULD be valid. I mean, at least that some programmers decided to do the same as Itagaki.

ps: When squaresoft lost Sakaguchi, tons of people folowed him, and this made a new studio, named "Mistwalker". Maybe it's gonna be the same with team ninja?

» dammit...

Well, there probably goes our chances of a PS3 NG2 game.

» @sickofitall

There NEVER was any chance MS published the title and they would need MS permission to port and if any one can provide me a link of a game that was ported to a rival console without the publisher permission PLEASE provide a link.

Onto this it isn't two dozen it's THREE HUNDRED AND IT'S CONFIRMED. Everyone is sewing them.

@the people who say they should join Konami that's unlikely. If .kojima and itagaki joined forces that would be a deadly combination. Kojima like ps3 exclusives(ps3fanboy) and Itagaki like 360 exclusives(360 fanboy) so I wouldn't know how that one would work out lol.

Well since TECMO published NGS on the PS3, I guess they can change the name to NGS2, and publish it themselves.
