Atari - Image 1Long-time game publisher Atari's financial troubles persist as its Q2 revenues continue to plummet. The firm has lost US$ 7.7 million in the period ending September of 2007, compounding earlier problems starting long before this fiscal cycle.

Atari has already lost US$ 13.3 million in fiscal 2007's first quarter, prompting the company to openly state uncertainty about its future in the industry. Atari has gone from console maker from two decades ago to a publisher today, shedding its hardware and software wings.

"The uncertainty caused by these above conditions raises substantial doubt about our ability to continue as a going concern," said Atari in its latest statement regarding its future as a firm.

Parent company Infogrames of France says that Atari's troubles are isolated from its own central structure, assuring everyone that whatever happens to Atari in the future Infogrames will remain intact.
