You can never get enough of puzzle games, admit it. They're easy to pick up for casual play, and yet, they do get you fixated enough with the challenge to not be able to put it down. If that's the case, then you are obviously in D3Publisher's market niche for its new handhelds title, Puzzle Quest: Warlords.

This game shines differently from among the more commonly styled ones as it incorporates role-playing and strategy elements along with classic puzzle-based gameplay. See, it's not just about fitting pieces to the right places. At stake here is actually a full kingdom, the land of Etheria. Your goal is to save it from the evil forces trying to conquer it. And of course, to be able to succeed, you'd have to go through those puzzle challenges.

And there are a lot of them, actually. With a series of 150 quests, you can opt to play as a single-player, and go against the AI. If you want to skip through all the frills of quest-participation, you may then choose to go for Instant Action, where you get to play in continuous battles for level-up characters. But if you want to have some friendly competition with your peers, then the Multiplayer option would be the choice for you. The wireless connectivity for your handheld will take care of that.

Puzzle Quest: Warlords sets out to both the DS and the PSP for North America in March 2007.

If PSP wants to attract gamers, they should of made a Final Fantasy game for its PSP by now. I have no idea why there are no quality good Square Enix games on the PSP yet. The PSP has been out what... 3 years and still no system selling game?

Metal Gear

Is breaking that ice for now. But Portable Ops will not keep the PSP up there for that long. ...A Final Fantasy game will. A FF game will show what the PSP is capable of, and that's what they need to show.

Didn't RockStar sell alot of PSP's with GTA:LCS? I know gpSP or whatever the GBA emulator is called probably did (at least, on eBay at any rate).

Your fanboism might blind you to the truth, but the PSP has been dying for awhile now. Failure of their UMD format, abandonment of their once loyal developers (SE and EA to name a few), low software numbers that contributed to the lost support, and many other reasons why the PSP is getting rear ended by the DS. Do you know that People still camp out and reserve their spot for new shipments of the DS Lite, so many months after its launch? Do you know that Many stores in Japan have to lower the price of the PSP and bundle it with games just to sell them? And Remember Locoroco? It was halfed in price in japan in its opening week, and it still sold poorly. Face it, the PSP is a fish out of water. The addition of not only the sequel to FF12, but a non spin off of DQ is just too much for the PSP to survive through. By years end 2007, you could very well start seeing PSPs in the bargain bins of your latest retail store with tons of unsold UMD movies going for under 5 dollars.

Cop out by developers

Why can't the PSP get the full games in any of these series??: No PSP Warlords - we get a Warlords puzzle game No PSP Scarface - we get a Scarface TBS game No PSP Godfather - we get a Godfather Card/TBS game No PSP Metal Gear - we get 2 card games (so far) No PSP Warhammer - we get a Warhammer card game All of these were promised as a full game at annoucements and ended up as a "PSP puzzle/card/TBS" game when delivered. This is an unbelievable huge cop-out by developers. If you're going to toss us PSP users this "bait-and-switch" vaporware, then don't bother announcing a PSP game at all.
