PSP best buy for Christmas says consumer advice group, PS3 lags behind |

Been wondering what system to compliment your entertainment devices for this Christmas? Reevoo has some suggestions.Reevoo is a consumer advice portal that collects and publishes reviews on various products written by "ordinary people" rather than traditional critics to prevent any kind of expert bias or ulterior motives. Their scope is rather broad, ranging from digicams to washing machines.
They recently released a guide to the current top picks in the videogame industry today. The system that won top marks? The PSP Slim and Lite.
Scoring a 9.5 out of 10, the little Sony handheld was lauded as easy to set up, not too big, has a bright screen and "looks cool." On the other hand, it was criticized for having few extras out of the box and poor sound quality. Strangely, the PSP Slim & Lite also has the lest number of consumer reviews to its name on the site.
Among the consoles Xbox 360 Elite (9.0/10) led the way thanks in large part to Microsoft's timely price cuts which made the overall price even more attractive than it was previously. The PS3 40GB finished last of its class (seventh overall - 8.7/10) again because of its cost versus value.
I'm suspect there are going to be a lot of readers crying foul on Reevoo's assessment of gaming systems (I have a few objections myself). Before you start writing angry comments may I just point out that given that most everyone is still reeling from the state of the financial market, cost *is* a very real consideration (yes, even if you factor in the value of the system).

i can already do most everything the ps3 does... minus playing ps3 games. so yeah until it has a killer app, it's not even worth $200 to me.

Wow, does that ever not make sense. My radio does everything my HDTV does, except display high-def visuals.
Wow...just wow, man.

There are LOTS of things that can play music and videos. Not many things can play ps3 games. That's why you need a ps3.

i have a new pc with bluray hooked up to an hdtv via hdmi.
i also have a 360 connected to the hdtv via hdmi.
so i'm left with a handful of exclusives i'm interested in, and none of those are compelling enough to me to warrant a roughly $400 purchase.
besides it's my perspective whether or not it makes sense to you is irrelevant.

This is not considering all the hiccups that go along with Sony's laziness.
Everyone thinks that the sackboys should be Sony's mascot. The perfect mascot would be Oscar the Grouch with a tagline..."I'm a PS3".
LMAO!

All in, with the cost of the console and the games, 360 is better value - it also has better downloads on Arcade, but I still refuse to pay to play online - that's one "extra" too bloody far in my book.

paying less than a dollar a week isn't a big deal to me. i would of hated it if i counted on free online play for GH:WT on wii...
i've been through my share of 360s and don't deny the older systems hardware was faulty. however no one can act like this problem really exists anymore and be grounded in fact.
i feel both systems have their bunch of extra costs, some better than others... but that is all a matter of opinion.
if sony would just throw in an actual HD cable with the system it would go along way toward adding value for me.

re: TouchDaSkeleton - can't really follow your post that well. I was simply pointing out that, since both consoles have largely the same library and performance, 360 is probably better value.
My original reason for buying a 360 was Bioshock, but even that's finally made it to PS3. It makes having both consoles a little pointless in my opinion.
Sorry if that wasn't clear to you.

okay, first everyone has a computer nowdays...duh...
you can basically play all xbox games on PC as xbox is just another way to promote games for computer, that's the main reason M$ joined the console race cause PC games were dying.....get it.....so since everyone already has a computer there is no reason to but a extra $400 system that wll get rape by the RRoD disease.......Plus you can easily play boot leg PC games for free
If I buy a Xbox i'll eventually have to by a blu-ray player to play movies which would be $400 + anothe $400 dollars totaling to a whopping $800.....can you believe that.....that's ridiculous.
Most games are Multiplatform anyways and I enjoy PS3 Exclusives more, they have a broader selection like MGS4, Resistance 2, LBP, Warhawk, heavenly sword, FFXlll VS...need me say more, they are appealing to the masses and pretty much all different types of games........unlike xbox it's mainly first person shooter, how many times can you do the same thing such as point and shoot until you get bored to death.
I can use my PS3 to surf the net and privately watch unlimited movies and*PORN* all thanks to Sony's lates Firmware UPDATE.
Last of all for the rest of my life I don't have to worry about paying for online acess for the rest of my life until the day I die....Amen....beat that for Xbox live it's actually the opposite, they will milk you to the grave and it is a fact don't try to denie it.
"A PS3 can do everything a Xbox can" and many more that Xbox owners can and will only keep on dreaming to get their hands on like MGS4..................Xbox live doesn't ever scratch the surface as HOME is coming out
to top it off PS2 has the most games on a console to date and I've only played 30 to 40 games so far....meaning I have hundreds more at my pisposal to try out for old times sake.
for over all price and value PS3 is the best deal out there possible.....just try to prove me wrong.....go on
