Possible Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow remake, Silent Hill Orphan coming to Leipzig?

Castlevania Aria of Sorrow - Image 1If the new game trailer entries added in the Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle (or USK, the German game ratings board) site listed to be shown in Leipzig are to be taken into consideration, we're going to see Castlevania: Aria or Sorrow making a comeback, and a game named Silent Hill Orphan coming our way.

There's no other news regarding the upcoming Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow trailer, not even what platform the remake (assuming that it is indeed a remake, and not a typographical error in USK's part) will be released on, but we can just let our imagination fly and guess that Castlevania: AoS will be released for the Nintendo DS, the platform of its direct sequel, Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow.

As for Silent Hill Orphan, it may very well be Silent Hill 5's final name, but there's no concrete news to prove it. However, think about this: since Silent Hill sequels on the consoles are usually titled with their corresponding number - with the exception of the handheld PSP's Silent Hill: Origins - it's entirely possible that there's yet another Silent Hill video game for the handheld, for the Nintendo DS perhaps?

Other noteworthy entries that were listed in the USK are Tekken: Dark Resurrection Online and Metal Gear Solid 4 - Camp Trailer. Since the trailers are listed in the German USK game ratings board, it looks like some bombshells are going to be dropped in the upcoming Leipzig Games Convention.

» No, no, no, no.

There is no AOS remake. That would be a retarded move on Konami's part.

» if there was one

i think it would go to PSP

Nintendo had no part in it, so it has free reign, and it wouldnt sell as well on DS as people would get the GBA version instead (just my 2 cents)

» Ugh

Silent Hill on DS would look so terrible and be so damn short. Also, you can already play AoS on DS anyway, what's the point of remaking it on a system where it would look exactly the same anyway? It's pretty clear that if these games are going anywhere it's to PSP.

» Good Point

I hope it comes to the PSP or PS3 totally remade. That would be good.

» Silent Hill Origin has a number

Which is... zero. Doesn't the 'O' in the Origin in the box cover looked like a zero?

» good point

» castlevania aria of sorrow

im not sure an aria of sorrow remake would be good. it did fairly well on the gba. if a remake is intended, would it have the same soma sprites in DOS? could it be 2.5D? another castlevania with soma(not a remake of AOS) would be awesome and bring back alucard(genya arikado). I say the rumor is false.

» About the remake

I say those who are against the re-make haven't even touched the DS games, they are brilliant (DoS>PoR). I'd support the DS remake, the GBA game was great, can't wait to see what they can do IF they remake the game.

DoS was brilliant. I should really play through it again.

» nah

They will not make this remake to PSP at all. Psp is getting poor in sale anyway. For Silent Hill Orpan to DS ? Dont know how it will look like but I do not want to be guess. You guys stop guess and wait to see whats happen first.

» Hey PSP's not doing very badly in sales department

This Castlevania remake of Aria maybe on the PSP because they are remaking the Symphony of the Night and the other one that comes with it for the PSP and its called Dracula X Chronicals, so Konami maybe thinking of remaking all of the Castlevania games for the PSP and also if you havent noticed, the reason they remake games on the PSP more is because of its awesome graphics and big screen.

Silent Hill 0rigins is an awesome PSP game or it will be, once its out. SH couldnt be handled on a DS.

You do know that PSP is doing quite nicely with sales, it may not be up there with the DS but they are still making great sales off of it.

AOS sucked

» AoS

If Aria of Sorrow does get a remake I'd rather the game be pushed towards the PSP instead. I can already play it on my DS or GBA.

The main reason why I wouldn't want it on the DS though is due to the fact that the system is mainly a gimmick. If we see Aria of Sorrow on the PSP, then maybe we'll see a port of Dawn of Sorrow on the PSP with something else implemented for breaking the ice(like attacking it with a weapon instead.)

If the game was on the DS we'd never be able to play it on the TV. If I'm not at home then portable gaming is fine, but just like playing GBA games, is that if I'm home, the only place I'm playing them will be on my Gamecube using the Gameboy Player.

With the PSP slim coming out and games are playable on the TV, I'll have the system hooked to the TV while at home and then just play the games on my PSP when I'm out.
