Video games and music do go together. Let's face it, video games are so much sweeter when complimented by the appropriate music, right? Well, apparently, the guys from 2 Player Productions think along the same lines. They have just produced this video game music documentary, entitled PLAY.

A video game documentary (this one and the others to follow) aims to have an in-depth look at the evolution of music in games and how it has influenced an entire generation of musicians and artists.

The video above captures an almost 8-minute live performance and was created by Paul Levering and directed by Paul Owens. The team also wishes to delve more into the video game music culture by exploring the origin of music in games, talking to some the great video game music composers, and knowing the difficulties in venturing into this genre.

Click 'Play' and hear some of the most beautiful music you'll ever hear.
