Book of Games, Vol. 1

After dropping by the video game store this November, you may want to pass by the bookstore to purchase the Book of Games, Volume 1 (in case your favorite video game store doesn't carry it). This 450-page hardcover coffee table book covers current and upcoming platforms including the 360, Wii, and PS3; a broad selection of current titles for consoles, handhelds, and PCs, and hot trends in video gaming.

And since it's made by the guys behind the gameXplore game database and analysis service, this is bound to become an authoritative, one-stop source on all things gaming. Extensive glossaries and tables turn the Book of Games into a true reference book for games - which would be very useful for those whose homework will involve video games, like say, in video game school).

Take a sneak peek inside the pages of this upcoming release, featuring stories on the next-gen hardware, a look at adventure gaming, and in-depth specials on some of the hotter titles around, including the Need for Speed series and The Sims 2. And since there's going to be 450 pages in this baby, you can bet that these pics are only the tip of the iceberg.

- And knowing is half the battle!

"Extensive glossaries and tables turn the Book of Games into a true reference book for games - which would be very useful for those whose homework will involve video games, like say, in video game school)." Right. Since when did you go to "videogame school" to know ABOUT videogames? Chances are, YOU KNOW about videogames when you go to "videogame school". You go to videogame college to learn about your DEGREE, not about videogames. I don't remember the last I time I was quizzed about material in a videogame. Oh that's right, never.

Fist in a collection of books

If they don't cover the PS3 that much in this volume, I am sure they will do so in volume 2, planned next fall.
