Money - Image 1Nordic Games has apparently pulled out all the stops this year to aid the growing game developer community in the Nordic region by announcing a US$ 4.2 million in grants which will be divided among five teams.

The deadline is closing in and applications have been on the rise.  The grant intends to give game developers the necessary amount of funding so that they can create high-quality digital content that will be made accessible to the public.

"The number of applicants comes as no real surprise to me," says Nordic Games program director Erik Robertson. "Plenty of applications were received last year too. On the other hand it is pleasing to note that the vast majority now seem to come from companies devoted solely to electronic games, companies that are already established or are in the process of getting there."

The applications for the grant will be screened rigorously by a committee. After the selection process, the announcements revealing the recipients will be made in the 15th of May, 2007 at the Nordic Games Conference.
