Nintendo DSi - Image 1Unfortunately, there won't be a DSi launch event in the UK. This was confirmed by Nintendo to Eurogamer, saying that the reason behind this decision is that the DSi is a mere evolution of the existing DS model, and not necessarily a replacement.

Despite this lack of shebang, however, a spokesperson also confirmed that there are 200 GameStation stores participating in a midnight sale, plus 55 GAME outlets and select HMV stores.

UK gamers can own their own "evolved DS" in the DSi for GBP 149 (about US$ 212). The DSi has been making waves, topping charts in Japan since it laucnhed.
