Nintendo wins four at 2007 MCV Industry Excellence Awards |
Ó
At the conclusion of the fifth annual MCV Industry Excellence Awards on April 19, Japanese gaming giant Nintendo was able to bring home four awards, three of which were individual awards leaving them to clearly bag the overall Grand Prix Award for 2007. The awards recognize the past 12 months of excellence for each nominated company in Retail, People & Industry, and Press Relations & Marketing.
The awards held at the The Brewery, London, brought in over 600 top executive attendees from the computer and video games industry alike, which celebrated the industry's continued achievements over the period from March 3, 2006 to March 2, 2007. The ceremony was hosted by comedian Al Murray and sponsored by Microsoft's Xbox 360 Team, Nintendo, NVidia, IGA, System 3, Sennheiser, Gem and Kiss FM, Disney Interactive Studios, Gamer.tv, Creative, and Mice Domino.
Other award spectacles of the night were Activision's Guitar Hero grabbing the New Games Brand Award, GAME taking the Specialist Retailer Award, Blizzard Entertainment being recognized for the Unsung Hero Award, and Microsoft's Gears of War winning the Game Campaign Award, as announced by the official press release.
