Those who've been going back and forth at the official Super Smash Bros. Brawl site, DOJO will find that their trusty content upload site is shutting down at the end of the month. Although it comes with a reprieve, Nintendo didn't say why they're shutting DOJO down. Link.- Apart from whipping out the ninja games for Tecmo, Team Ninja is also known for their appreciation of the female form, which they had no problem expressing through their games' ladies - case in point: Rachel in the E3 trailer for Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2. Now that the Team is going to work for Metroid Other M, aren't you curious if Samus Aran is getting the Team Ninja treatment? Link
The Wii has been pinned down for its lackluster graphics, especially when compared to the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. Given their market, however, Satoru Iwata himself said that there is no reason to go make an HD Wii since there isn't a "significant reason" to do so. Link- Black and red. These will be the new colors of the new Wii and DSi respectively, possibly stepping up the market interest for both platforms. The red DSi looks alright, but the black Wii certainly caught my attention. Link
- Did you know that Nintendo actually started development on a new
handheld, but eventually scrapped it? President Satoru Iwata revealed
this himself in an interview with CNBC. Link
Paul Wagener released the latest update for his WiiEarth app, which allows users to see the world from a really high-flying bird's eyeview. This update now comes with widescreen support, which makes perfect sense if you're looking at the Earth from such a distance. Link- An exploit was found in Super Smash Bros. Brawl earlier this week by comex, revealing a vulnerability in the stage builder code that can be used to run arbitrary homebrew code. There's no file release yet, but there is a video of the exploit in action. Link
- Alongside Carl Kennera, Wiibrew stalwart Tantric makes his usual appearance in the Wii homebrew section of the Weekend Warrior. This week, it's DOSBox Wii, a port of DOSBox for the Nintendo Wii using DSL Wii. Most DOS games are playable in this release but some still need a little bit of adjustment to the dosbox.conf file. Link
- A new update for MPlayer CE, a Wiibrew media player app based on MPlayerWii and GeeXboX, has been released today courtesy of the MPlayer CE team. The new update has fixed the USB Adaptor problem, improved cIOS and added a lot of small bug fixes. Link
- Tantric ain't done yet. This next one from the prolific Wiibrewer is an update for his Super Mario War Wii game. Wanna know what happens if Mario gets jumped on by another Mario? Here's a fun way to find out. Link
- Waninkoko won't let Tantric take the Wii homebrew spotlight this week as his releases a big one of his own, whipping out a new update for his Custom IOS Installer, a modified IOS that adds some new features not available in the official IOS of the Wii. Link
- Here's another big one - HBB, also known as the Homebrew Browser, got another update featuring a rather hefty changelog. Count on its developer teknecal to do a stand-up job, and count on the to take you to the article. Link
- It's not all about the Wii homebrew, even the DS got some great ones this week. One of them is DS MediaCenter, hillbilly's "small" project, which earned high praise for its functionality despite not being on top of its developer's prio list. Link
The homebrew sure held this Warrior up, although there are still some quality non-E3 news. For the E3 news, you can check back again with us for the special QuickPeek on our E3 coverage.
