NintyNintendo UK recently teamed up with Comtech, a Machine-to-Machine and display solution provider to power their next innovation. No, that innovation is not the Wii 2, but it is an innovation in Point of Purchase in the form of an in-store Retail Communication Display which is wirelessly controlled and updated from the Ninty Head Office.

How does this work? Using this technology, electronics and game stores in UK and Ireland will be able to display product details, (release date, high res images, and the likes) in an LCD screen in less than 10 seconds. For example, they could advertise and display Metroid Prime 3: Corruption's screens, gameplay vids, and its release date in any store blessed with this kind of technology. Bottomline - faster information dissemination to their market means more profits. Top that, gigantic Shibuya billboard!

For now, the first of the displays are being introduced into the top GAME and Game Station stores throughout UK and Ireland.
