Nintendo: third party sales to improve |
Ó
Though everyone sees that third-party developers and publishers aren't doing all well on the Nintendo Wii, it doesn't look that way in Nintendo Company Ltd.'s eyes. The Japanese gaming giant says that the whole feeling is setting in because third-parties are still learning to flex their Wii development muscles, while Nintendo has had early experience with the machine to make more appealing games. An official statement from Nintendo:
Our software sales percentage is currently high because our internal teams teams know the Wii's special characteristics best, and they started development quite a bit before the Wii's release.
The company's internal development had software teams work in collaboration with hardware teams who worked on the Nintendo Wii. In short, Nintendo had an early advantage, while third-party publishers had to start from scratch.
"However, we believe that eventually [the quality of third-party development] will change," said Nintendo.
The company observed that third-party developers who started out on the Nintendo DS also didn't quite make games on par with the market's tastes. But soon after, the game industry adjusted, and some DS third party games are slowly improving in sales and market share. The company expects that such a trend will also develop on the Nintendo Wii development side.

I think the problem is third parties just aren't interested in the Wii. Sure they could learn it if they wanted to, but the games are barely on par with the gamecube, if not straight ports with wiimote controls added in. The only games third parties are going to make on the Wii will be cheap and quick to make, like the minigame collections that it already has so many of.
if there were more optimistic people in the world today there would be less unhappy people
The fact that nintendo has been so awesome with theyre games is because they had the hardware from the beginning THAT ALWAYS HOW IT IS!!! Ur so stupid u have no idea how the Video game Industry works Look at Mario galaxy and Brawl they look Awesome! Over time the wii will have even better looking games and Third Partys will do so to!!
I understand what you mean, I've tooken a look at some Wii game shelfs at various stores, and alot of the titles look crappy and/or cheap, or just a minigame collection, with very few gems shining ever so slightly. At least I know the Wii is supposed to be a casual system, unlike you who bash it ever so much, and will be picking up a PS3 when I get a summer job to compensate for the lack of better titles...
