Nintendo sends condolences to O'Keefe

Ó

O'KeefeWe hope this next tidbit will put everything to rest. Not that we're trying to suppress the word or something, but for the sake of Connor O'Keefe's soul, we hope to end this right here. Because you see, the kid isn't a victim of Nintendo. He was accidentally electrocuted while trying to unplug his GameBoy.

With that said, Nintendo of Europe recently released a press statement regarding the matter. It reads: "Nintendo wishes to offer its sincere condolences to the family of Connor O'Keefe. Details of the accident are currently unclear so we are unable to make any further comment at this stage."

It should be remembered that this thing somewhat blew out of proportion when local tabloids gave the story a sensational twist such as headlines like "Killed by GameBoy." Furthermore, the local police officials have always maintained that no blame whatsoever has been attached to the company. We also send our most sincere condolences to the family of the kid.

» Very sad

Poor him. He is cute. Very sad, indeed. I wish that our body is design to survive the electricity but guess we can't. So we got to be careful. In the name of God will take care of him. :)

» Sad...

It's sad but you can't blame Nintendo.

It's like if I drive my car of a cliff and my family tried to sue the car manufacturer.

I feel sorry for the parents, please don't blame Nintendo.

» What are you, effing stupid?

Looky here, someone who probably is still 12 years old. Listen kid, if you read everthing, you'd understand that the story was blown out of proportion by tabloids. The kid was killed on acciedent by his own innocence.

Nintendo was never sued, just told this was happened with one of their products. Thats all.

I hope the kid rests in heaven....playing the entire library of gameboy games in heaven.

» How dare you!

The person that wrote this comment regarding my aunt and uncle is absolute scum!

I am Connor's Godmother, and my family are not blaming Ninetendo for he's death.

My Connor absolutely loved playing with he's gameboy Advance and was given a DS for xmas. Video games gave him hours of fun.

I would like to make it clear that Connor was NOT wet from the pool, and an investigation is being carried out.

People should think before they say things like that, you are a scumbag for writing that!

» Hold the flames guys...

We know you love Nintendo and some also feel sorry for the death of Connor, but some of our dear QJ readers seem to have missed the point.

The issue at hand is not about O'Keefe's suing Nintendo or whatnot. This news is about the loss of a boy who loved his videogames. We're pretty sure the whole shebang was an accident. But as such, an investigation is taking place. So let us keep ourselves from pointing any fingers. Please avoid making any defamatory comments about the kid's parents, Nintendo, or - God forbid - Connor himself. We will not have second thoughts about deleting offensive comments and banning users who make such comments. Remember guys, we are all civilized human beings here. Decency is the watchword.

Thank you. ^__^

Again, our sincerest condolences to the O'Keefes.
